Struggling with Stress and Procrastination
So, I've had a really busy school year so far. It's been really overwhelming but lately its gotten worse. My stress is worse, I feel like im stressed all the time unless im distracted by something. And my procrastination has been getting really really bad. Ive always procrastinated but not this much. Ive had a couple assignments that I let go late and then handed in on the last possible day I could hand it in and still get credit. Im really scared im gonna mess up really bad. Im scared that it will keep getting worse.
My college applications are due on nov 15th and I haven't touched them nearly enough. Im going to be busy the whole week before and will have very little to no time for them. So they need to get done next week.
I just keep getting stuck, like freezing up when it comes time to do stressful tasks. I dont know how to avoid getting stuck or how to get unstuck when I am frozen. I usually end up just sitting and worrying or distracting myself with other little tasks (that also need to get done but not as urgently.)
If anyone has any suggestions that might help with this it would be really appreciated, thank you all so much for listening!

I know it's hard and stressful.
But when we leave it to the last minute, it's more stressful and overwhelming.
I'd encourage you to break things down into small, manageable daily tasks to get your college applications completed.
Then it's not overwhelming and it doesn't become a burden.

Thank you so much, your encouragement is super helpful, and thank u for the hugs :')

Thank you for sharing so openly, that takes courage. What you're describing sounds really stressful and it makes sense you feel overwhelmed wight now. When we have so much pressure on us, our brains can go into 'freeze mode', a stress response.
I'm a big believer of small steps and breaking things down into tiny, manageable tasks. How does this sound for you? For example, instead of working on applications being on the to do list, maybe write for 10 minutes could feel more achievable.
Something else that I recently found to be helpful may be pairing stressful work with something smoothing. For example, a warm drink or calming music; it can lower pressure and allow your min d to start associating the task with less tension. how does this sound?
Please remember, you are not failing by struggling; you're human, you are trying and that's what matters the most!
I wish you all the best and remember, if you need to talk, our wonderful listener community is here for you!
