Hahha literally, this is so relatable!!
Sometimes ive tried to find a video that relates to the chapter im reading, it helps me actually get the information into my head. For example when I took and AP history class in high school I found a YouTube channel that literally summarized the chapters I had to read, and they were really entertaining, the person who made them did an amazing job. They were such a life saver! It might be tricky to find the right video and it might be time consuming (i got lucky with the channel I found) so its definitely not the perfect strategy but it can pay off!
Otherwise i would probably take a break from reading the chapter and come back, sometimes if you read the same thing a million times it can be hard to get your brain to understand it rather than just seeing letters and not a cohesive sentence.
Breaking it down and highlighting things that you think are keywords my help too, it might help your brain to focus in on what is trying to be said.
These probably arent the best strategies but I hope they help!
