need someone to rant about school, jobs, internships, literally anything
currently a college student and i’m just lost and confuse. we can rant to each other about our situations and struggles :)

Ugh yess I’m so ready to be done with school and oh yeah the feeling of not knowing what your doing is still with me even as a senior 😭😭 my major is in the arts, fashion design & merchandising. I switched it from sociology cause no thanks lol. What’s yours???
omg that’s so cool!! i’m an accounting major rn (boring ik lol), not sure if i want to switch. but i’m planning to work in corporate and industry accounting/finance. any plans on what kinds of jobs your looking for after graduation?

Haha not boring at all, definitely realistic though! No one takes me seriously when I tell them I’m a fashion major 😂 but I’m more of a creative person so I had to follow that. I was studying sociology before.
And wow it seems like you have a clear idea, that’s so good especially as a sophomore. For me, I know that I want to keep building my experience through internships, positions either as a buying or design assistant.
How’s your semester going so far? Are you just coming back from break as well?
no i actually have so much respect and look up to those who pursue creative majors- i would too if i was more talented and creative but i know i’m not ahaha
yeah! my semester actually started this thursday. thankfully i’m really satisfied with my courses and schedule so hopefully it will be smooth sailing.
i just started applying to internships these past couple of months and my god, it is not easy. the patience we need is crazy. have you gotten an internship/experience for your major yet?

Yeah I get it, you’d think these art majors are easy going BUT NO!!! They do their best to make sure you really fight for this degree 😂
and ugh internshipppsss I’ve been putting them off even though I need one to graduate , I’ve applied to a few and haven’t heard anything so I guess I got a little discouraged and keep procrastinating. Is internship trouble the reason you started this thread ? Cause I totally get it !

and yes! i started this because i have been struggling so much to gain an internship. i feel like there are so many out there but they are looking for candidates who already have internship experience..
sigh it really isn’t fair especially in this job market i’m scared for after i graduate lol
anyways i’m slowly getting used to my schedule this spring so hopefully it will become easier so time passes. i hope you are doing well too!!

currently i’m still taking general courses but i’m taking my first accounting course this semester. honestly- it’s not that interesting 😅. but i know i personally work better when i get used to a routine? i guess so you’re pretty much doing rather similar things in the workforce in accounting (depending what practice you go into).
what major are you?
@kathlol I'm the same exact way, I need a routine to thrive or else I feel really unorganized and thrown off track. I'm a psych major, which is part of the reason why I'm on 7 Cups. I wanted to get some experience, but I also just really want to help people.
oh this is a great place to get some experience! how are you enjoying being a psych major so far?
@kathlol.. well it's just a beginning it's okay to feel this way. U will learn how to manage and do things with the passage of time. Just be focused towards your goal and you can fo it.

I don't know why it won't let me reply to you on the thread haha. I'm enjoying it! It's a lot more math and statistics than most people think. But I honestly don't mind. I've always liked math a lot. I know you said that you haven't taken many major courses yet, but how are you liking your university/general courses?
ah yes! my friend is also a psych major and she struggled a lot in her stats class ahaha. that’s good to hear that you enjoy math (i do too lol) since you wouldn’t expect it in for a psych major.
i actually really like the general courses at my college. i go to a business school so it’s nice to have those courses like english and theatre where you don’t have to be so “professional” and “corporate-like” i guess lol
but actually i go to a commuter school so i don’t really get that college experience unfortunately. i did want to go away and dorm at a different university but it was too expensive 😔 but i think in the end it will be better than having to pay back debt lol
what about you, how’s your college like?
oh i totally get that. since i go to a business school that offers majors like liberal arts i have heard stories where the departments and programs aren’t as well known or strong compared to the business ones.
totally think it’s unfair if that college is the only option for someone
I feel the same too, except for the fact that I am a senior secondary student.
