Dear friends, as of late I have been editing abuse by the person I married, at work and live in a very xenophobic society. I have been suffering and unfortunately because this, that and other many problems I drink alcohol and is becoming a problem even though it has its short window to forget the problems it leaves me after with bad feeling and horrible thoughts .

I need help , any advice in how to overcome the desire even if I am constantly mistreated even in my own home.

thank you all

grateful for any advice

Dear Friend,

Alcohol is a false friend. Using it when you are depressed or worried is like taking a money loan from mafia - finally it may cost you much more than it was worth at the beginning.

Alcohol abuse may create or amplify depressive moods.

Alcohol can make your thoughts more suicidal.

Alcohol abuse does not solve any problems, but makes them more serious.

There are many situations in life that make people feel pain and loss or suffer, but still most of them cope without alcohol.

I understand it must be very difficult to you to navigate between very painful family issues, your wounds from the past and expectations of the society, at the same time struggling with self-blame and low self-esteem.

How would you feel about being more forgiving and kind to yourself when the circumstances are harsh? I believe problems need to be solved, not to be drowned.

Dear Eladio,

First of all, I want to acknowledge your immense strength for opening up about what you’re going through. 💙 You are enduring so much, and it’s heartbreaking to hear about the mistreatment you’re facing at home, at work, and in society. No one should have to endure abuse or xenophobia, and the fact that you’re still reaching out for help speaks to the courage and resilience within you. 🌟

I want you to know that you are not alone in this. It can feel isolating and overwhelming, but there are people who care and want to support you as you find your way through these challenges. The way you’ve recognized the negative impact alcohol is having, despite offering temporary relief, is already a huge step forward. Recognizing the problem is the first step toward healing.

In times like these, it’s vital to remember that self-compassion and small steps are key. Surrounding yourself with a network of support—whether it’s a therapist, support groups, or trusted friends—can make such a difference. If you’re feeling overwhelmed in your own home, please seek out spaces where you can feel safe and supported, even if it’s just for a moment of peace. 🕊️

It’s also important to remember that healing from abuse takes time, and healing from addiction is a journey in itself. Be patient with yourself. Take it one day at a time, and know that each day you choose to step away from the alcohol is an act of reclaiming your power. 💪

You are worthy of love, peace, and respect, Eladio. Please reach out to professionals or support networks who can help you navigate these difficult times. There is so much more to your story than the pain you’re currently experiencing, and I believe that with the right support, you can break free from both the abuse and the alcohol.

You deserve a life full of peace, love, and safety, and I believe that step by step, you can move closer to that life. 💖 You’re stronger than you know, and I’m so proud of you for seeking help.

Sending you strength and hope for the journey ahead. 🌿

Much love,

Kayla 💕💫
