THC/Marijuana issue developing
I'm concerned I'm developing a dependence. I haven't had any physical symptoms of withdrawal so I don't know if I can call it full blown addiction, but if I go three days without using THC I feel very grouchy.
Recently I wasn't able to use for a full week and honestly, I felt like I was losing my mind. My living situation is not ideal and I struggle with mental and chronic illness, so I use marijuana nearly every other day as a means of escape and to cope with certain symptoms. My other coping skills are not working.
I want to commit to a tolerance break but recently I went through something horrible and I haven't used in three days. I'd like to reach about 7 days but because of recent events, I don't think I can.

I understand alot of people find that it works for mental health issues when it comes to relaxation and feeling calmer but long term effects far outweigh any positives, especially if you are feeling grouchy and can't last without it.
Good on you for being honest and paying attention to early warning signs!
I recommend taking it one day at a time, reduce what you take slowly, bit by bit, day by day, if you fail, don't be hard in yourself, until you finally get off it!
It won't be easy but you can do this!
Thanks for your honesty!
Hi! I do think the right word here is dependence. You've been depending on it to do something. I use it to ease pain. My ex uses it for anxiety. Or is it just the ritual itself you are dependant on? Can you find a small hobby that can replace it when you start to feel that way? I know this is nerdy, but I taught myself how to tie all kinds of sailing knots. Kept my hands busy and worked my hand eye coordination. The side effects from not partaking will fade. I hope things go well.
