Your Feelings Are Not Facts ✨♥️
Recovery doesn’t mean you won’t have hard days. It means you’re learning how to get through them without running back to what broke you. Some days, your mind will try to convince you that you’re not strong enough, that you’re failing, or that you’ll never make it. But feelings are not facts.
Here’s what to do when those negative thoughts creep in:
🛑 Pause & Challenge It – Ask yourself: Is this thought true? Is it based on facts or just emotion? Your mind can play tricks on you, but you don’t have to believe everything it says.
📝 Write a New Story – Instead of “I can’t do this,” say “I’ve made it this far, and I’m not giving up now.” Instead of “I’m a failure,” remind yourself “Every struggle I overcome makes me stronger.”
🌿 Change Your Environment – Step outside, take a deep breath, move your body. A shift in scenery can bring a shift in perspective.
📞 Call for Backup – You don’t have to fight your thoughts alone. Reach out to a friend, a sponsor, or someone who understands. Let them remind you of the truth when your mind tries to lie to you.
💙 Be Kind to Yourself – You are allowed to struggle. You are allowed to have bad days. But you are not allowed to give up on yourself.
Your thoughts do not define you. Your past does not define you. Your actions today are what matter. Keep fighting—you are worth it.
