Day 16: When Darkness Feels Closest (Psalm 88)

day-16_1793169240.jpg

Psalm 88 is the only lament psalm that never turns toward hope. It ends with darkness, yet it is still a prayer addressed to the God who saves. Today's step invited us to bring even our darkest feelings to God, without forcing positive clichés.

Community discussion question:

Psalm 88 is the only lament that never offers an explicit word of comfort. What might its presence in the Bible tell us about God's willingness to receive our honest struggles, even when we have nothing positive to say?

This psalm shows us God knows our hearts.

He wants us to be authentic.

Come to Him as we are.

Tears and all 💛
