Day 1: With Jesus as He Hears of John the Baptist's Death

day-1_1793177076.png

Jesus learns that his cousin and forerunner, John the Baptist, has been killed, and he withdraws by boat to a solitary place. Today's step invited us to imagine ourselves present as the news arrives, and to consider how Jesus' grief connects with our own.

Community discussion question:

As you consider your own challenges, what in Jesus' experience of grief here resonates with yours? How might your circumstances help you connect with what Jesus may have been experiencing?

Share your reflections in the replies below. Whether you post a few words, a prayer, or simply read what others share, you are welcome here. Please be kind and supportive of one another.

@SoulfullyAButterfly

I connect with Jesus , how alone He felt.

The pain He was in.

The mockery.

The insults.

The trauma of real friends leaving you behind.

Severe bullying allowed me to truly walk the path with Jesus 💛
