Day 7: With Jesus in Gethsemane (Part 1)

day-7_1793187441.png

In Gethsemane, Jesus is overwhelmed with sorrow and asks his closest friends to keep watch with him, but three times he finds them asleep. Today's step invited us to stay with Jesus in his anguish and loneliness and to connect it with our own.

Community discussion question:

Are there parts of Jesus' suffering here that you identify with, such as friends who miss or misunderstand what you're going through, or emotional pain so intense it physically hurts? How does knowing he experienced this meet you?

Share your reflections in the replies below. Whether you post a few words, a prayer, or simply read what others share, you are welcome here. Please be kind and supportive of one another.

This post is part of the 20 Days with Jesus in His Suffering growth path on 7 Cups.

@SoulfullyAButterfly

I've lost people tragically and I thought the pain would consume me.

When I see Jesus in Gethsemane my heart breaks for the way He felt carrying us all with Him 😔💙
