Hi there,

I hope you are all well! From time to time, life can be incredibly tough and we need to figure out what works for us but sometimes it can be really tough to figure that out! If you have been on this journey and figured out healthy coping skills that work for you, please share!

What coping skills do you use that work for you? How do they make you feel and what is one thing you wanted to tell us about your chosen coping skill(s)?

For me, I like to go walking or join a yoga practice even if it's on my own. It makes me feel so much more balanced. One thing I would like people to know is the healing benefits of yoga are truly transformational.

I often find that coping skills are only temporary, and do not solve the actual issue at hand.

@Nick324

I hear you Nick. Sometimes more guided support is required to get healthy but good coping skills can be a great addition to stay as healthy as possible.

@amiablePeace77

They are still just "coping skills". Coping means to "get by" not solve.

@Nick324 I hear you we all want to have our problems go away.

In my life I have learned to cope with things that are unpleasant and they mean a lot less than they used to. For me that is a win. I feel better than I did before.

I have been home 3 weeks now from a 2.5 months stay in the hospital. One of the nurses taught me to go sit in a dark room for a few minutes just to calm myself down.

doing dishes helps also, I am still on oxygen and recovery mode so anxiety has been a part of each evening.

I have a daily movement board that keeps me focused with my therapy appointments and keeping on task. I schedule in tasks everyday to wake up and start my day with meditation followed by exercise then a quick house clean up and get ready for my day ahead it makes me feel ready for the day. I then always have my air pods on me daily and whenever I struggle I tune into a meditation or some music I unwind to some yoga at night and some meditation.
