Does anyone else have severe death anxiety? Terrified of dying , a family member or close friend dying. It’s not every day but very often I could be just enjoying my day and then I think about it and I’m literally sick to my stomach over it. How do I help this ? Any tips ?

@redKiwi9682 I am sorry that you are upset about the thought of death. It is not easy.

I have lost dozens of people in my life but coming to terms with my own mortality is more difficult. When I first started learning about coping with death, I read Kubler-Ross's On Death and Dying. There are many videos that talk about mindfulness and that is something that helps me. Here is one person that is really a reliable source on mindfulness, Jon Kabat Zinn https://youtu.be/8HYLyuJZKno

This is a short one called is there life before death https://youtu.be/urA82Z88WRA What he says if we live fully in the moment then death is not such a preoccupation.

Hope you get the support you are looking for.

Death is not a bad thing I actually realized that when I died but it’s there too remind us too be human and also grateful for our time and the things in life I guess the most important thing to realize is too really look around and take in your surroundings and the time you spend with people put 100% i lost a lot of people and some so close I see them in my dreams I still talk too them I’ve kinda witnessed the other side and honestly it seems like a great place I no longer fear death but I learned to be more grateful of my time and I’ve takin people more seriously I hope my testimony helps cause I had that fear before I experience peoples deaths and my own

@redKiwi9682 I don't normally consider my end, but today I learned an acquaintance of mine recently passed. He was only 48. When somebody you know passes before you it gives you anxiety along with many complicated feelings.

I wish you well. Try to live your best life. It's all we can do.

He was only an acquaintance. No real connection. It just serves as a reminder that there is no guarantee in life. We may plan for tomorrow, but it may never come.
