It's not weird what you're experiencing; many people are having problems speaking in front of a group. I can see, though, that you dislike knowing the answer but not being able to say anything, feeling like being muted. I'm so sorry that you're suffering from this anxiety. It can make it very difficult to participate actively in the classes. Some people find it helpful to practice deep breathing to relax the body.  What have you tried so far and have you talked to your teacher about this issue?

I haven't got the chance to tell the teacher about it

But my doctor told me to take deep breath through mouth when it happens so I've been doing that in this situation

your thread deeply resonated.🍃

It is exhausting when your mind knows the answer but fear locks your throat.

You are not broken at all,, your body is just trying to protect you like a worried friend.

If you'd like,, try just one small thing next time... quietly write the correct answer down in the corner of your notebook page. Look at it and smile.

You can honor your own intelligence completely privately,,

without any pressure to speak out loud.Your worth is already whole,,

whether you share your voice today or choose to keep it to yourself.

Healing grows slowly,, just like a tree 🌳May you find a little light, even in the smallest step.!!! 🕊️ Take care!

This feeling is normal and happens to most people. Just act naturally and don’t be afraid to speak—it’s not the end of the world. Gather your courage and see how you will feel more relaxed.

I wish you success and comfort.

Adrenaline (also known as epinephrine) is a hormone and neurotransmitter produced by the adrenal glands. It is the primary chemical driver of the body’s "fight-or-flight" response, rapidly preparing you to react to stress, excitement, or danger by increasing heart rate, expanding airways, and boosting blood sugar for quick energy.

As u had mentioned that you know the answer, you are in the excitement state. It aint bad, just normal human behavior.

you sure will learn to keep in control and not get stressed by it.

@raspberrySea9290 I had that feeling before. To be honest, I don't like this kind of interaction in class, since it makes the atmosphere super competitive. I think maybe it's better if the teacher sets a time limit. From my experience, it feels better to raise your hand and follow the lead if you already have an answer. Maybe you can give it a try and share your feelings with us here.🫂

@raspberrySea9290 its going to be ok, I get you, try taking deep breaths and just focus on giving the answer

Hi raspberrySea9290, this feeling is very normal and understandable. You have to put yourself out there to speak up. This experience happens to most people, so you're not alone! As someone who has lived experience of anxiety themselves, I also understand how tough this can be. I can't give you advice but in terms of support, perhaps think about how positive your contribution to class might be for others who might feel the same as you and how it can also encourage others to do the same action of speaking up. Some people find doing mindfulness practice and practising deep breathing really helps to relax the body.

Have you tried to asked your peers/classmates or family for advice on this issue and what has been suggested by them?
