Can We Heal Without Closure?
🌿 An Emotionally Mature Question:
“Do you believe true emotional healing is possible without closing old wounds — or is it the acceptance of those wounds that truly empowers us?”
I’d really love to hear your thoughts or personal experiences if you’re open to sharing. 🩷
@AngyA i think it's important to close those old wounds.., how could those pain inflicting and blood dripping memories be empowering us? Maybe those scars can.
@tidyCity4720 oops sorry I haven't read it completely.. zoned out.. very sorry.. i thought about a different scenario and typed an answer fast😐
@tidylittle
No worries at all, @tidylittle — I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, even if it came from a different angle at first. You actually brought up something meaningful — the idea that maybe it’s the scars that empower us, not the wounds themselves. That’s such a powerful distinction. Thank you for adding that perspective. 💬🌿
@AngyA I have too many opened wounds and situations without a closure that they are affecting me afters years and years. At this point idk if I can move on and change my life. Even if I don't think about that much, their burden is being heavy on me unsubconsciously
@AngyA
I believe u, truly emotionally heal, the moment you acknowledge what had happened and that you're okay with what happened. You heal the moment you look at the wounds and think of all the feelings you felt at that moment, that's something that's very hard and not many people can do. And you're okay with what happened in the past because it made you stronger and made you to the person you are today. Because if we're talking for instant about a real wound, it will grow into a scar and that scar may take 10 months,45 years or never to go , but it will always be there and you just have to accept it and let it be a part of you.
And that my love that's what I call real growth and emotional healing!

@Iwilltrulylisten3
This is such a powerful and beautifully worded reflection — thank you for sharing it so openly. 🌿 The way you described healing as both acknowledgment and acceptance really resonates. I especially love how you compared emotional wounds to scars — always present, but also a symbol of strength and growth. Real healing, like you said, doesn’t mean forgetting — it means carrying it differently. 💜
Thank you for adding so much depth to this conversation.
@AngyA It’s really a good question to ask. What I think is that emotional heeling isn’t possible without forgetting the old wounds. As long as you remember the wound it keeps bleeding your heart and soul. It’s important to forget the wound to keep going on the track.
@TheSoulsHeaven
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts 💬 — I really appreciate how clearly you expressed this. Forgetting can feel like a form of freedom, especially when the memories are too heavy to carry. For some, it’s the only way to truly move forward. It’s interesting how healing looks different for everyone — and your view adds another valuable layer to the discussion. 🌱
@AngyA Thank you so much for such an important question and it got me wondering !
What is healing anyway ?
Could healing be less about fixing the past and more about moving forward because time doesn’t go backward, and neither do we ?
Could healing be the moment we choose to grow. Or the day we wake up and realize the hurt no longer holds a power on our minds ?
Is it closure. when a wound is acknowledged, answered, and resolved ? or is it something profound like acceptance? To be able to carry pain without letting it define you ?
In my opinion there is no easy answers when it comes to healing , it rarely comes with closure. at least not the kind we expect. And in many cases the apology may never come and the explanation never arrives. Which makes us feel that acceptance could been more reasonable than waiting for closure.
Closure feels like something others have to give me or i should creat in my mind . When acceptance is something I can choose, even if i dont want to .
In the end i always believed everything is only a matter of perspective.
Thank you again for this thought provoking post that we should have more of here, as i hope my response didnt make things more confusing .
@Oldsoul1618
Wow, thank you so much for this beautifully written reflection — you captured so many of the thoughts and questions that live in the heart of healing. 💭 I especially love the way you framed healing as a choice, not necessarily to forget or fix, but to carry pain without letting it shape who we are. That shift from expecting closure to choosing acceptance really resonated with me. You didn’t make things confusing at all — quite the opposite. You brought clarity and so much depth to this conversation.
Truly grateful for your words. 🌷
@AngyA
When we have no closure, we fill in the gaps ourselves, we are haunted by the what ifs, we fill in the blanks ourselves, rightly or wrongly doing more damage. It's like picking constantly at a scab until it reopens, when we don't get closure, it's important to not take the blame into ourselves, write a letter, be raw and honest, burn it, let it go and tell yourself, you deserve to heal 💜🥰
@Amanda84
This was so beautifully said. 💜 I really felt every word , especially the part about filling in the gaps ourselves. That can truly do more harm than we realize. Thank you for reminding me (and all of us) that healing is possible, and that we do deserve peace. I appreciate your words more than I can say. 🫶
@AngyA, honestly speaking, as we are all unique in nature , emotions work differently to each and every person, though natural laws are same . All is about our belief system. Belief system works better when you see evidence. Seeing is believing. So, need to work on trial and error based on personal environment and situations. Keeping some one as mentor or finding one best well wisher, makes the job easy .
@Shadowlife
That’s such an insightful way to look at it. 🌿 You’re right , we all respond differently, and sometimes trial and error really is the only way to understand ourselves better. Having someone you trust beside you can make such a difference. Thank you for sharing this perspective , it truly resonated with me. 💬✨
@AngyA
i used to believe I couldn’t heal from my ex after he pasted away and I was always so mad at him for leaving and not telling me why he did me like he did and now he gone… as years went by I learned to accept it and accept what was done and learn to live with it!!! I’m still learning and it’s not easy at all but sometimes it’s just life and maybe we weren’t meant to have closure in everything that is done in our life we just need to live and move on!
@adrjust1
Thank you so much for opening up and sharing this. 🌸 It takes a lot of strength to accept something so painful and still choose to keep going. You’re right sometimes we don’t get the closure we hope for, but learning to live with that is such a brave step. I truly admire your honesty and the way you’re still moving forward, even when it’s not easy. 💜
@AngyA better closure
