I was wondering if anyone has heard of this or has any experience with HSP or HSS HSP?

@reservedOwl321

It can be really difficult being highly sensitive.

And tiring.

Emotionally draining.

You care too much.

Think too much.

Want to help too much.

Always think other people are talking, taking offence too easily 💚

It's not a bad thing to be sensitive, but it requires a balance and finding coping mechanisms to effectively allow you to process more efficiently 💚

It’s not an emotional thing, it’s physical.

@reservedOwl321 Yes! I am a highly sensitive person, and some other people in my family and friend group are as well. It is difficult but also beneficial. You feel a lot, which at times is overwhelming, but it also makes good experiences so much more powerful

I definitely relate! I read Dr. Elaine Aron’s work about a decade ago and it was a huge lightbulb moment for me. I’m a classic HSP, I don’t really have the HSS side. But the deep processing and sensory sensitivity are very real. Have you been noticing those 'push-pull' feelings yourself, or are you more the classic type?

I'm not really sure about the push pull feelings. I read her her book as well though. It's been a few years, It really resonated with me.

Thank you all for responding.  I got onto my other computing device off of the app but on the apple product with a keyboard and all so now I can attempt to type a proper response.  I’m such a turtle! Maybe I should change my moji…. I’m truly thankful for your patience for me to get back to and update this thread.  I still have yet to get the movie and now the Olympics are on right?  I couldn’t make it to the Olympics this year, I wish.  I can’t even find them on my television anymore for inspiration!  I guess I need to turn on the news or something.  I’m in the US though.  I hope all of the Ice Skaters are being more cordial to each other than they were so many years ago before I had these lovely teenaged kiddos.  Sorry hope I’m not over sharing… I have to get back to my day!  😍😭. Oops hope that’s not an emoji mess up…

Watching the film now. I definitely can relate to being easily overstimulated. I also feel I can understand others easily as long as they are relatively respectful to me. F y I I liked the book better than the movie.

Hello!

Yes it's real. I am one of them.
