@blueLychee7540 I am sorry you are feeling so sad. That is rough to be separated from your dogs.

Please clarify if you mean you dropped the dogs off to stay with your mom. "Put down" is a term in the US that means euthanized.

Hope yoiu get the support you are looking for.

@blueLychee7540 i'm so sorry and my heart goes out to you for what you're going through <3

my friend lost two pets in the space of a week, and she took a day out of school each just to mourn and cry and let it all out. don't forget that you're allowed to be vulnerable and cry when emotions are running high, it's perfectly natural and human to do so.

also remember there are some wonderful people in this community that are more than willing to listen to you talk about the memories of your dog for hours on end - it's what we're here for!

sending lots of love, ashni x

Oh my God, you sweet soul!! I feel your pain and wish to God I could offer you a way out of that pain, but I am still dealing with the loss of my two dogs, and the sadness is far larger than I am. There are no words for this kind of crushing grief. I’m here because the loss is literally pulling me under. Many days I don’t know if I’ll survive it. I don’t know what to say. What do you say when someone buries their child and best friend. It’s agony. And I wish I could give you a hug.

@blueLychee7540 My heart literally broke for you when I read your post. There's no sugar coating that can make this situation better in an instant, otherwise I would hand over the recipe. If you are like me, your pet was a real member of your family; your best buddy. There is no solace when the time comes for them to lay down forever, there is only time, which seems to choose these moments of grieving to move through far too slowly.

The Law of Matter states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, only changed. I believe that our pets are made of an energy just like our own, and though no one can say for certain, I believe that if they so choose, their energy can find it's way back into our lives. Until then, mourn for your friend, but don't dwell on the fact that they are gone. Be grateful for all the pure love they shared with you & all the happiness that they brought into your life. Over the course of my life, I have buried my share of furry friends and it never matters if they go at three years old or live a "full" lifespan for their kind, it always feels like they are taken away too soon. Some might find it morbid, but I kind of have a little pet cemetery. My parents live out in the country on a decent sized plot of land, and that is where my lost pets are laid to rest. I either go out and buy a small marker (my dog, Ladybug, has a concrete ladybug statue for hers) or make one myself, then I carve their name and anything else I feel I should add onto it. After I place it, I always plant a resurrection lily bulb next to it. Some may find it silly or strange, but the ritual of it helps me to say goodbye, and each year, when the lilies bloom, I'm reminded of my friends and hope that they know how much I miss them.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my doggie too and I miss him often. One thing that really helps me is to focus on the good life I was able to give him, and all the time he lived a good comfortable life.

Having to put our pets down is not an easy decision but sometimes is best if it means we can end their suffering, it just shows how much we love them and how we want them to be okay.

just try to keep remembering the good times you spent with them!
