I feel like I wasted my youth

Growing up from like 6th grade to junior year I felt like I was too mature and didn’t really act like I kid or a teenager. I was too scared to do new things and mess around which caused me to regret a lot of stuff. I always felt like I needed to be a mature kid for my parents since my brothers were always messing around so up until now I didn’t really do much. But now I’ve been messing around more and more and I feel like I’m moving backwards almost. On top of that I never really had positive views on relationships. I think I had commitment issues from seeing my brothers relationships but I also was kind of a *** and I fumbled a lot of opportunities. Now I want an actual serious relationship but I feel like now that I’m ready for one it isn’t going to come. I don’t know I just regret a lot of my past actions and I wish I could go back in time and redo things

@Smithly918 I have "20/20 hindsight" in other words I can see clearly what I could have done to have a different outcome. So what can I do with that ability? I can make the determination if I am in a similar situation again not to take the same action. Then the most important step for me is I stop thinking aobut it; stop ruminating about it. Stop blaming myself and feeling guilty. Those serve no purpose.

The past is gone and I cannot change it, but I can start today fresh and new with possibilities.

Hope you get the support you are looking for.

@Smithly918

As much as we can try to want to change things in the past there's no really magic way to do so. I always said that the fact that you'd want to change what you did and how you spent your time in the past is a sign that you've grown and matured. Take that as confidence to start building your life how you want it starting today!
