For me, it was learning that you can't pour from an empty cup.

I used to spend all my energy trying to fix everything and be there for everyone else, completely forgetting to take care of myself. Learning to set boundaries and realizing that my own mental health matters just as much was a really tough but necessary lesson.

To be the adult in the room.

To not stress over things out of your control ✨

@AshleyNFlewellenLPC How strong I am mentally but still growing from trauma, AuDHD, diabetes 2, and I'm HIV+ also a daughter of a narcissistic mother, but I keep rising and now I rise beyond defeat. If helping someone could help then with my lived experiences then all the traumatic events I've walked through and have somewhat conquered and in process of healing but still conquered!

The hardest lesson i have learned this year and late too is that no matter how much someone means to me, if they don’t feel the same way about me, eventually they will leave, and no amount of care, effort, or loyalty can change that

That at the end of the day ( or at 3am in the morning), your resource is yourself. So you’d best develop a good relationship with said self. Do some mind training and develop awareness. (For those who believe in a deity, this would be akin to learning to listen to the fabled small still voice.)
