Im afraid of multiply things in the world. I’m afraid of who I’ve become as a person I know I’m not the greatest but I don’t think it’s hopeless to get better, at least where I’m at right now. I’m afraid of becoming angry like my father I still have memories of his outburst. I don’t talk to anyone about that though because it would make my mother sad. I’m afraid I’ll become useless in the future. I’m training to be a electrician but idk if that’s what I want to do for the rest of my life. Sometimes I think it would be better if I left this world but I’ve always been to afraid about what’s on the other side.

@skky2005

I think IMO that some anger issues come from not letting things out .... feeling worried about future is a thing most people do...

You are working towards being an electrician good solid choice.... and maybe you will enjoy it more then you think ................but in reality many people do not know what they want to do their whole life or are worried about  being content  or happy .................when we do not talk it out we may get a different perspective.

having a solid background can be something you can fall back on if you ever do find other things you want to try....many things in life change and stressing over what ifs add to anger and often again IMO often make people miss the good small things in life because we are in our head not in the present.

@skky2005 my parents expressed anger and I find it difficult to deal with angry people. And I have a tendency to get angry when things do not go as expected. I am learning new ways of dealing with anger like not reacting but giving myself space. The STOP technique has helped me with emotiona dn mental reactions.  https://youtu.be/WaszqhPCWX0?feature=shared

I am sorry you feel really low sometimes but I applaud your going on in the face of this feeling. If I had acted on some impulses I had when depressed I might have missed out on this whole life. I did work in a job that I found hard to keep on in, but I did and things have worked out okay.

One thing that helped me was other interests. My passion was music and poetry and I did that on evenings and weekends and that got me through the days.

It also took a long time to find a long term partner. It is not easy nowadays as people choose quick pleasure over lasting commitments. But I found that by persisting eventually things worked out.

I never wanted to make the mistake some have made trying to end their life and regretting it and surviving with an impaired life. You have a lot going for you. We need people like you at 7 Cups. If you have the chance and the times work for you, here are great topic support sessions and anyone 18 and over are welcome.    https://www.7cups.com/forum/50plus/QAsDiscussionsResources_1770/50plusDiscussionsandTopicsFebruarytoMarch2024_207920/  We try to  discuss issues that matter to people. @skky2005 I know how you feel, I was in a situation where I was doing something that I did not enjoy, but somehow life got to me and I chose the career I love instead of what others expect of me.
