What does your "what now" look like?
There's a stillness that follows every turning point in life. Often it's a silence broken only by the ticking of a clock, constantly asking, what's next?
But the next step doesn't always appear on it's own. That silence, while urging us to hurry, also offers a seat, an invitation to pause and ask: What now? It's not a question of hurry but of reflection.
What does your "what now" look like, when everything else feels suspended?
@BlueDarkAurora
Your question is very deep and feels personal and introspective. It makes me wonder what is going on the head of the questioner. It resonates in such a way that it makes one feel that the person asking the question might possibly need to have it asked of them.
So, I ask firstly are you doing okay? And what does your "What now" look like?
@BastionKnight oh no, is it that obvious? XD haha or maybe you're just a kind soul who likes to understand and truly see what someone or something means. Thank you for being you and for having such a gentle aura 💗
I'm absolutely alright ^-^ I think I just wanted to see what people do when they're in limbo 💙
@BlueDarkAurora
I am happy to hear you are alright, (I trust your word, but hope that if you ever were feeling 'fine-notfine really' you would feel able to reach out for a helping hand).
I did notice your gentle deflection of the question of what your "what now" might look like.
For my own experience, I am sure I have neither the intellectual capacity nor imagination to ponder too deeply on the "what now". When facing looking into that echoey well, I am sure I quickly become distracted by plinking pebbles down into the depths. Or perhaps it is more like getting lost in a forest...where others might retrace their steps, climb a tree to get their bearings, or pull out their map and compass and plot a further route,...I guess I just blindly tread onwards until I stumble into the next grove, thicket, or out of the woods entirely.
@BastionKnight I realise I deflected the question ^^ I guess my mind doesn't see my "what now" as something pretty or progressive enough to share. But then again, emotions are complex like that. Some break free, others break us. It's okay though.
But it's so beautiful that you care enough to not only ask but also to gently remind me that I too deserve help. That care means a lot. I want you to know the same. And if you ever need someone to listen, I'm here for you 💗
Your art is a reflection of the beauty inside you. The way you observe things and translate them into words shows not just your creativity but your intellect. There's a hopeful bravery in moving forward without knowing what's ahead. Maybe it's the trust you have in your heart, knowing that no matter what comes, you'll find your way.
@BlueDarkAurora
Your self reflection is impressive, but it makes me feel sad on your behalf. Why would you believe your "what nows" are not pretty or progressive enough? Surely there is no scale of grading such things, and it makes one wish to shoo away any influence which might have led the mighty BlueDarkAurora to feel it was otherwise. You need not hide your authentic self. We all admire you and hold a great deal of respect for you.
I am humbled by how you seek to transform each experience into a supportive stance. You have always come across as one of natures caregivers. It makes me smile when I see how you divert focus away from yourself and back towards helping others, even when seeming to acknowledge that you too are indeed deserving of being shown an extra bit of compassion. I cannot help but respect it, even if I simultaneously wished that you would reserve a greater portion of all that care for yourself.
You are seen. And we all care about you.
*Bows humbly to you*
@BlueDarkAurora
This hit home. "What now?" Is the only thing in my head right now.
Sigh
Just found out my husband had a gambling relapse, lost all our financial assistance including housing and food. Looking at possible eviction come month end. Amidst a mountain load of debt, deafening silence in my home, knot in my tummy, lump in my throat and with tears in my eyes
I ask "what now?" Because what even now?
Im not gona lie, road ahead looks bleak and dark, cold and harsh.. i cringe at the very thought.
Then i remember to breathe, as my 5 year old calmy reminded me while i was busy losing my mind. This in itself was a blessing.
In the eye of my own storm i find comfort in knowing that i worship An Almighty who has never forsaken me. And although my world is completely falling apart, it might just be falling together.
For His plan is far better than a plan of my own.
@zaaab
I am sorry to hear that your situation is so fraught. The words you chose to describe the road ahead is heart-breaking. It is being made aware of situations such as your own that puts things in perspective and makes ones own challenges seem quite trivial by comparison.
From whatever quarter you draw strength from, I hope it provides the fortitude you need to do what you feel is necessary. I hope that the eventual answers to your "what nows" lead you to happier times.
@BastionKnight
Thank you, your kind words are appreciated
@zaaab Your words really reflect the incredible strength in both your heart and your faith. I'm so glad you have your child with you. Their little hearts and beautiful smiles can make even the darkest nights feel a little lighter 💕 It is a blessing to be surrounded by that kind of pure love.
I really hope things start turning around for you soon. And I hope your love, your faith and belief always stay close and be the support you deserve 💓
@BlueDarkAurora
Thank you for your kind words.
Your post gave me pause. This has been a question in my thoughts for a while now.
The compass needle spins mercilessly round and round, searching for direction. Looking for true north...
Some days I feel angry because it feels like I placed a great deal of hope into a future that no longer exists, it can't exist now. Other days I'm sad, missing what never was and also what might have been.
I keep busy. I work a lot. I try new hobbies. I try to figure myself out because most days I feel like a stranger.
The ticking of the clock urges me to hurry and figure out "what's next". The silence, almost too painful to bear at times.
@mytwistedsoul
*Flutters the flag of support for @mytwistedsoul for their ongoing efforts to be positively proactive*
Your words are very poetic and touching. Keep going, the race is not yet run. I have confidence in your eventual victory.
@BastionKnight Thank you good sir!
@mytwistedsoul Effort without result always feels wasted. And sometimes having hope is a deliberate effort too. Maybe the result we got wasn't the one we were looking for. I know you're talking about a whole different situation but I feel like I'm there too, caught in the same kind of hurt.
It's easier to repair or fix when there's still a chance. But to stand in a limbo, knowing all the previous doors have now been closed.. that's a special kind of lost.
Maybe we can stumble around a bit so that the clock can at least feel like it's moving ^^ But the silence, it demands to be heard sometimes. I do try to sit with it, I don't like how it tells me about me. I guess there's hope there too, hope that someday I'll be able to see where it's trying to guide me.
Do you hold on to that kind of hope too? Not for a miracle, not even for answers but just to feel something shift. Just enough to breathe 💙
I understand it hurts, but I'll tell you what I tell myself. Even if that specific hope is gone, the fact that you had it says something about your capacity to care. It was something true at that time. And while it may feel wasted now, it was still a reflection of your heart's willingness to believe in something better and that's not nothing 💗
@BlueDarkAurora It's a hard space to be in. The constant ache and longing of wanting to say or do something to change the outcome but there is nothing you can do. They say for every door that closes, another opens up but that's not entirely true. Some doors once they close, they disappear forever. I'm sorry you're caught in this hurt too.
I hear you. That “What now?” feeling—when everything is suspended—is heavy, like standing on a bridge with no clear path forward. It looks like:
Stillness that isn’t peace – nothing moves, yet your mind races.
Time stretched thin – hours feel like days; waiting feels like work.
Questions without answers – every plan paused, every expectation in limbo.
The quiet of uncertainty – you feel exposed, with no control over what comes next.
@BlueDarkAurora me, waiting for life to work out for me like

@sadcat13 haha relatable 💗 But I hope life sends you a lot of little signs, little arrows pointing you towards the right path. And I hope you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way while figuring it all out.
There is a glimpse of stillness. Though I often try to find things to fill it with. An effort to suppress.
My “what now“ is a statement I would love to make with excitement and positivity. A fresh newness. A reason for everything that has occurred this last year.
I guess my rainbow after all the rain ❤️
@peachThinker662 That "what now" sounds beautiful 💗
I hope all your moments of pause and stillness are filled with meaning and peace. And I hope each step you take brings you closer to happiness, growth and everything good ^-^ 🌷
