We actually keep discovering new coping tools as well right? Our brains do get bored by conventional ones! 😁😁🥰

Anyways, my tools are journaling, taking a walk on nature and most importantly soothing self talk full of love and care! Sometimes affirmations for the situation also works!

Those are amazing tools, and you can always put new ones you learn in the coping toolbox. Life is about learning.

5 things in my coping box:

-something to read or listen to as a distraction

-journal and pen, never know when you need to write a reminder or get a story idea

-paperclip/ rubber band for when I'm stressed

-something to fidget with (small toy, stress ball, though most of the time I just fiddle with my rings cos I always have several on)

-jokes. whenever I hear or read something funny I film/photo it so when I feel bad I read it again

 I used to keep cigarettes, and that was my main coping method, but I quit last year and honestly right now as I was writing this it just hit me, I've come so far. I still have an extremely long way to go, and a lot of the time I feel like it's getting worse but I still did something you know? I'm trying to get better, it's just hard to see that sometimes, so I'm glad about the occasional reminder <33

Good things for a coping toolbox! Congratulations to giving up smoking cigarettes. I stopped around 34 years ago and still remember how hard the first months were!

A weighted blanket can give much comfort but petting a cat too! May I ask what's her/his name?

Great! Journaling can be very helpful. Are you journaling your thoughts or is it a gratitude journal if I may ask?

@amiablePeace77

  • Exercise (Running, Cycling, Swimming)
  • Art (Graphic Design, Painting, Paper Crafts)
  • Connecting with old friends, new people, going out more
  • Tasty Delicacies (Would keep my "healthy" diet on a break XD, cause it really helps, but I make sure I never over eat, just the right amount of feel-good food)
  • MOST IMPORTANT: Giving more focus and time to my career goals (Helps me a lot and after I have actually got some appreciable of work done, it feels so good, in two ways, it's beneficial to your career and you were so into it that you didn't think about your other distresses)

Great selection! Nice you can refocus on something that is important to you instead on dwelling on unhelpful thoughts.
