Accepting that I was abused at a previous job

During a majority of my young adulthood, I was employed at a warehouse with employment supports.  This was maily due to living on the autistic spectrum.   Although I have mainly let this situation fade into the past,  I realize that I have lots of bad memories of being mistreated while I was there.   I recently came to accept that their behavior towards me were levels of mental abuse, narcissistic abuse, and emotional abuse.

As I talked about it with my counselor yesterday, I still feel anger and hurt about the wrong that was done.   So I am working on letting go of what happened but also realizing that I still feel traumatized about what they did.

@Amanda84

Thank you for your kind words.

The sad thing about this situation is that CEO had an autistic son with high support needs.  However, she and her little work clique saw our disabilities as the glass half empty.   All of them wanted to find a cure for autism.   While they were accepted by anyone with high support needs, the rest of us were hated and heavily stigmatized.

They also thought they could get away with taking advtaged of people with disabilities.

Summery I am sorry that you were treated badly on your job. I can totally relate as I also had trouble holding jobs because I also have Asperger’s syndrome and OCD, and I got bullied at work and had temper tantrums because of it.

You are not how other people have treated you. Many people are afraid of neurodivergent people because they don’t understand us and that makes them feel uncomfortable. Our self worth is intrinsic to us and is given to us by God. Remember, one self endorsement is more meaningful than any number from the outer environment(other people).

If you can forgive yourself and accept yourself as you are, you can begin to forgive other people that have hurt you.

Best wishes and let me know if I can be of help.

Take care of yourself. ❤️
