I have to walk away for a while, Take some deep breaths, and give myself time to regroup distractions to give my mind a breakheart

@scarletPear1945

Frustration can easily lead to say or doing things we might regret lateron so stepping away to give the mind a break sounds very helpful to me!

@amiablePeace77 I get quiet and draw inside myself. If it's really bad I take a walk or find something to distract me and focus on keeping calm

@mytwistedsoul

Nice that walking helps you, do you sometimes walk also in quiet places where you can have a self talk? I used to do that in fields where no one could hear me. It helped me to let the frustration out instead of keeping it inside.

@amiablePeace77 All the time! :) The house is surrounded by woods and there's noone around for miles. You never have to worry about being over heard by anyone except the critters in the woods lol

I like pear's idea to walk away for a while. If I am hungry I take food and if tired I nap. Depends on what the circumstances call for.

@soulsings

Thanks for the reminder about food and sleep, those can be two big things adding to frustration. Well rested the mind can simply process any challenges in a better way.

I ‘quit’ the situation and check in with self for thirst, hunger, fatigue and come back to the situation after refueling.

@LifeGold28 those are really good ideas. If I am hungry and or tired, I really do not cope well.

Ladyybugg, when I haven't done enough self care, whether it is eating well in time, enough sleep or enough me time I become very sensitive and react like that too. When did you do self care the last time and are you doing it on a regular basis?

Sorry that the things you're doing to help yourself are not enough. Sometimes it needs a change of situation. Maybe you could benefit of sharing your thoughts in a 1:1 chat with a listener?

@amiablePeace77 How do you typically respond to frustration?

I typically put up a mental stop sign and take a deep breath. And try to think of a way to start communicating instead of starting an argument.

@soulsing

Using such a mental stop and trying to avoid an argument sounds much less stressful.
