Honoring our bodies

Our bodies are by no means perfect, and many of us have some sort of physical challenges but that doesn't mean we should discredit or be so hard on them. Your body does a lot for you, your organs, your cells, your bones - they all keep you going. Let’s have a look at your lungs for example. They work all day and night, whether you're awake or asleep. That's 20,000 or so breaths per day! For example, right now, your body itself is working hard so that you can read and understand mentally what is written here.

How do you honor your body for all the work it does for you on a regular basis?

I try to honor my body by practicing self care. Anything from staying hydrated to taking a nap when I feel exhausted. ♥️

@tinyDream

Nice that you practise self care. Staying hydrated and napping are self care ways which can really make a big difference how we respond to daily challenges. A rested hydrated body and mind are simply in a better position to cope.

@amiablePeace77 I honor my body by listening to its needs and not wearing it down with selfish demands that drain its energy. This can mean finding a harmony with the body and living within the limits of my body. This can mean eating responsibly for the health of the body. This can mean exercising to maintain the tone and health of the body. This can mean practicing mindfulness to restore calm in the mind which helps the body live in peace.

@soulsings

Accepting our bodies limit and not overdoing things along with good diet and exercise along with mindful practises to keep calm sounds very helpful to live in harmony with ourselves and others.

I honor my body by listening to what it needs. It tells me when I need rest, it tells me when I can go and move forward, it tells me when I’m sick.

By “listening” to my body’s cues, I try my best to give it what it needs and avoid overworking as much as possible.

It’s okay to take a break; resting is normal.

@lunchbox000

It seems you have a good communication with your body and understand what your body is telling you.
