How good are you at waiting for what you really want in life?
Hey guys! How good are you at waiting for what you really want in life? I think I am very patient when it comes to what I really want in life. Sometimes the best things in life take time, and it can be worth the wait once you have a good feeling about it. For me, I’m waiting to become a Pediatrician. Even though it will take years for me to become one, being a pediatrician is something that I really want in life. Additionally, I know that it will be worth the wait once I start helping patients and feeling good about it. What about you? Are you waiting for something that you really want in life? If so, how good are you at waiting for it? 😊❤️
I’m not very good at it… I’ve been with my boyfriend off and on for 8 years because I haven’t found anyone else I click with as well as I do with him. I do love him very much but I have horrible self esteem when I’m with him and I’m obsessive about our relationship. He cheated on me 4 years ago and I can’t seem to shake the fear that he will do it again. What I really want is a partner who praises and worships me in the same way I do him. He is not comfortable with telling me how he feels about me so I’m often left to wonder if he’s still in love with me. I need way more reassurance from him than I would other people considering our past and he just can’t give it to me. So I have settled for a half-happy life, unwilling to wait for a bigger or deeper love connection that may never come along…
@Desmynn6789 hi thanks for this post.
I am not so much waiting as pursuing a path to learn to be a better listener and how to cope with emotions without getting stuck in them.
I think I am pretty good at waiting. I hate jumping into things and have a fear of making rash decisions. So often I wait until I am sure of myself. As for the bigger picture, I have no idea about what I want to do in life so it really is just a waiting game for me in that sense. However, I think I need to stop waiting and start experimenting and experiencing things to figure out what I like.
@brightTurtle5778 I like the idea of starting now and trying different things to see what feels natural to me.
I think I am ok at patiently waiting over 40 years to be happy and comfortable in my own skin. I will never get that but I have come to realize some dreams never come true.
