I had a hard time at my new church on Monday
Hi:
Recently, I posted about walking away from a synagogue that I had been attending off and on for 15 years. I also said that I found another congregation that I am very happy at. However, I am having hard time adjusting to the new settings
Being that is congregation is a lot bigger, they have a lot of activities. On Monday, I attended a women's conference and I had a hard time. For starters, I am an autistic neurodivergent woman and it's always been hard for me to connect with and maintain female friendships. So I went, I saw all of these women connecting and having a good time. However, I felt left out and did not know who to talk to and so I started crying.
Dude! I struggle with that too. I’m autistic, and I also feel left out and abandoned and alone a lot. I feel you <3 hugs

That is one of the reaons why I started crying because I felt triggered by past experiences. Additionally, I am feeling sad about leaving my last synagogue but I made the right choicer.
Doing what’s best for you is always the best decision. I’m proud of you <3
@Summershy
I can relate to what you're saying. It must hurt to see others having fun whilst you're left outside but want to be part of it. As child and young person, I always asked myself "How are they doing it?" but now as an adult I remind myself that's okay to be different.
Is there one person in that group whom you feel comfortable to connect with? 💙
@Summershy my heart goes out to you, sending you hugs and best wishes. It can be so hard when we are just not comfortable in a situation, it can become overwhelming and natural to overthink, not know what to do but these eomen have been there and know each other a long time and may not even have been aware you felt alone , it might be easier to participate in some but not all of the church activities, taking the pressure off and letting people get to know you and vice versa slowly. Having autism can be difficult, overwhelming and misunderstood but I assure you, it does not take away one but from the awesome person you are, it makes you more wonderful 🥰💜

Thank you for your words of encouragement. The biggest part for me is not really knowing how to socialize. However, I could do some research and find out what the general rule of thumb is. Actually they seem to be really accepting of people with autism but they seemed to be seen as regular human beings.
@Summershy they are regular human beings, just see things through a different lense 💜🥰
