Leaving my old synagogue update
Hi everyone:
I have an update since my last set foot in my last synagogue. Being that yesterday was a Jewish holiday, I took the day off. Despite my old synagogogue offering services, I stayed away from there. For one thing, I had a bad experience when I attended their services last year which left me in tears
- The people were cold
- There were no lunch or anything after services
Being that I didn't want to have that experience again, I attended services at an orthodox Jewish Center in one of my favorite parts of town. I had a much more pleasant experience before, during, and after their services. They even had a brunch afterwards where everyone was very friendly and welcome. Then afterwards, I walked away and I did not feel drained.

Yes it certainly was. For one thing, I saw a huge difference in attitudes and willingness to make an effort for other people. For instance, while sitting and eating lunch, the rabbi's wife saw me eating alone and asked if I wanted to sit with a group. Whereas, the people at my old synagogue would barely notice someone sitting by themselves. I really liked that a lot. Meanwhile, I was also reminded that by going to the new location, I didn't have to worry about seeing that guy.

I should also tell you that the trip down to Jewish Center felt very refreshing. For one thing, I enjoyed the new setting and scenery while waiting for and on the bus. It was nice and peaceful.
Then when I left services and lunch, I walked away feeling pretty great too. For one thing, I enjoyed the scenery before walking to a nearby grocery store to run some errands. I even got something to drink and sat on the store's patio afterwards.

This sounds really wonderful and so nice of the Rabbi's wife to ask you to join the group! It proves that there are comforting people around! So glad you went there!

Yes because when I went to say my goodbyes and close that chapter of my life, a still small voice told me
"Once you do this, don't go back anymore."
Even if I did, I don't think it would have made a difference.
