Realizing the grass is not green on the other side
Yesterday, I played the comparisson game with two former fake friends who were able to get married. At first I wanted to blame it on them being spoiled brats who always seem to get what they wanted. Then I realized that just because they are married and got everything they wanted mean that their lives are perfect. That helped me calm down and stop wanting to call them "Entitled princesses."
@Summershy I read your post and it seemed like you might be saying their lives are not perfect.
Most people are great at whitewashing their lives. They tell you about the great vacation but not about the things that went wrong. A lot of people get married and they have all their arguments behind closed doors.
Social media is a place that many whitewash themselves. One person had this beautiful picture on their profile page. When I saw them in person they were kind of a "plain Jane." Why create these grandiose pictures of oneself? Maybe they are just trying to keep up with all the others that are making beautiful stories.
I prefer a rather simple life. No envy of them here.

Comparison is the thief of joy!!
