HI there. How about sharing something upbeat in your life.
The best thing that happened to me lately is ______________ (fill in the blank)
The best thing that happened to me lately that all my plans that I thought won't happen for the year were accomplished. 🙏🏼
I was able to stuff my face with a half gallon of ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream over the last 24 hours without falling into a diabetic coma.

Making it through the past few weeks, this week especially. I am very thankful to have made it thus far.
I finally got the courage to end my own life
The best thing that happened to be lately is I was given a big raise and more responsibility at work. I’ve been feeling very overworked and feeling like no one else is doing anything. It feels very good to be recognized for my hard work especially when I’m struggling so much mentally
the best thing that happened to me lately is now only having a few more weeks until my summer break starts! -S x
The best thing that happened to me today was...
It was a horrible day to be honest, in that I learned my Narcissistic sociopathic ex had somehow found my recent ex after I emailed her during a vulnerable moment, and now the two are in chats and my most recent ex (fiance) suddenly hates me and thinks the worst of me after everything I did for her to make her life better. I struggled really hard with this all day and kept trying to reach out to an EAP line to get an "in the moment" counselor to talk to on the phone because I craved human contact and needed to get out of my head. I spent 3 hours calling them with the calls dropping every 2 to 4 minutes. I told my "why are you calling today" story to at least 9 different people, and began to tell it to two different therapists before every call dropped... I was in tears most of that time because the frustration was building up. I messaged my stepmom (who has me on their business plan) about the problem and she told me to go to the store, so I drove to the store and they couldn't help me because I was not authorized to get assistance at the retail location. So I came back home. Took my phone apart, put the sim in another phone, still dropped calls... cleaned it off and put it back into my newer phone and tried a couple more times.
I finally... at the end of a really long, exhausting, and emotional day, connected with a therapist who was amazing. We ended up talking for 2 hours. The first hour was just me crying and explaining all the intricate details of my complicated problem, then she came out with the empathy and I started bawling like a baby... then she started to tell me about her divorce and she began to cry as well. We just really bonded. And I haven't had quality human contact/connection with anyone in so long. It was nice to hear a person laugh when I joked about something, or to hear the tone of the person who was telling me that I have nothing to be ashamed of, I took a chance and it didn't work out and she's sorry that I wasn't appreciated by the people I tried to help. She was really awesome and it was something I needed to have happen because I sit all day by myself, day after day, trying to grieve the loss and move forward but getting stuck in my head all the time and obsessing on this situation because there's nothing else filling that space at the moment.
I also learned I can call them as often as I need to but I'll just speak to different therapists each time I call in, but I've decided to do a nightly check in with a random therapist for the next couple weeks until I'm in a better headspace. Also, she set me up with 3 phone sessions with the same therapist (a different one from her) to help me deal with the grief I'm experiencing and anything else I might need. Those limited visits are different from the "in the moment" support counselors. But I feel like I'm finally going to have some resources in place to help me move on.
@JustLondon
.....have been able to finally not be so very upset and distressed, since I can't remember....over something huge that has been going on for quite sometime, but, it's been going on so much and has been so bad that I can't remember how long
The best thing that happened to me lately is I've got to spend some time with the person I love. We live far from each other, had to travel for 5 hours just to be with him. And in these times of lock downs and restrictions, it is really a big thing to be able to see and be with them.
@darosello that sounds wonderful. Hope your relationship grows and thrives.
Thanks! I hope I will have the courage to make friends too.
