Living an ethical life can help improve our image, with others and our own self-esteem. What is one value that you have that has helped you through difficult times?

Ons value that I have that’s helped me through difficult times is my determination. Whenever I am going through hard times, I am always determined to get out of hard times as quickly as possible because I feel that just going through it brings my self-esteem down. Being determined makes me feel better whenever I go through hard times, and this value has always stayed with me 😊.

What about you guys? What is one value that you have that has helped you through difficult times?

I am very interested in what you all have to say about this topic ❤️

@Desmynn6789

Hello Desmynn. Thank you for creating this interesting forum thread! Determination is such a good quality to have, no wonder it helps you get through difficult times and reminds you to do your best to get better soon.

I think that one quality that helps me get through difficult times is openness. When I experience hardships, what keeps me going is that I view it as an opportunity for self-growth and I try to accept the pain that goes with it. I know that I have already managed many difficult situations in the past and I came out with new insights/skills so I always remind myself that there is a silver lining.

Hi @globalBraid374, Openness is an excellent value to have when going through hard times. I agree that having openness when going through hard times allows us to gain a new perspective on it. Self-growth is essential, and I think everyone should be open to self-growth. I am glad that you came out of the past with new insight since you were open to it, and I hope it continues to help you throughout your life 😊. Thank you for participating in this post 💕.

@Desmynn6789 the value that has got me through tough times can be called stubbornness when I am trying to do the impossible and persistence when I am strongly committed to a path that is being true to my heart.

Hi @soulsings, stubbornness and persistence are great values. I also try to do the impossible sometimes and trying to achieve it helps me get through hard times. being committed is also a great value to have because when your committed to something, it allows you to continue growing in that area. Thank you for participating in this discussion ❤️

@Desmynn6789

Hi Desmynn, another great post! 😊

What is one value that you have that has helped you through difficult times?

I simply refuse to give up, it's the determination wanting to live and make the best out of it. This is not always easy and I definitively have my downs as everyone else but I also have what we call here on the island "Hard ears" (not listening) if someone tells me "You can't do this". No matter what I will try.

I love "hard ears", Peace...thank you for sharing!

Life has to be "my definition" else I would be living dictated by another's (selfish) controlling and it helps having harder ears truly..thanks again!

One value that I didn't think I held through difficult times until recently is honesty.

Instead of lying about what happened, I tell the truth. Own up to what part I played in the situation and from there I find I am better equipped to come to the best solution in moving forward.

@PeaceB48 I find an ethical stand is not the easy way out but it frees me to let go and move on with my life.

Ty for the thread😊

My value that has helped me is dedication. I learned from dancing that if you want something, you have to dedicate yourself to it. I actually never became so passionate for dance that i became dedicated to it, but I did music. I value that I'm dedicated to my job (a support giver for Disabled people), because a lot of people abandon the people we support after just a couple months.

Sometimes I can't tell if I'm being dedicated or just stubbron though lol

Hi @pandaprincess9, I think that dedication is an excellent quality to have. Being dedicated to something helps you become more motivated to do it. I am glad that dancing has taught you dedication because it helped you be passionate about it. I also think it is great that you are giving support to the disabled because they don’t have many people dedicated to them. Thank you for your participation in the discussion 😊.

@Desmynn6789

resting, taking a step back, even crying

when my world is spinning, it usually stops
(I wont mention which culture) but my culture only ever asks "how much money did you make this year" or "how successful are you/what have you done...im lucky to be padded by some good family

I keep my meals going, singing, resting, painting, playing the piano. after a while, I usually spring right back

but I am aware of others where im from, they didnt have the chance to rest, and did "drastic things"
(7 cups do not allow mentions of s- u- i -cides so will not elaborate.)

Im very lucky to have the chance to rest, Des...and thank you for asking this qns!
