Once upon a time, there lived a dog that was very good at hiding his emotions. The dog was tied beneath a shade tree. He always wagged his tail and acted cutely. So he got the name, the cheerful dog because he is as cheerful as springtime.

The dog always had lots of fun with the village kids during the day. But every night, he’d moan and whine when no one was around. That’s because he wanted to cut off the leash and freely run around out in the spring field. However, he couldn’t. And that’s why he cried every night. Every single night.

One day, the voice inside him asked the Cheerful Dog, “Hey, why don’t you just cut off the leash and run away?”

And this was the cheerful dog said, “I’ve been tied up for way too long so I forgot how to cut myself free.”

As we are people we alway present ourselves in a presentable way being a person who always well cheerful so we tend to hide our emotion to the point that we have create a mask to hide what inside us just like a cheerful dog that just want to be loved and to be notice but if we continue to be trap with our mask how are we going to move forward and see the birght side we still have time to let your self out of the mask and be genuinly happy if we keep holding on onto something that would not make us any better we will continue to suffer arent you get tired of feeling that way? if we continue to wear a mask we will trap in fear forever in pain and regrets.dont you want to be free and happy? Nothing will make a move for ourselves we all have a choice to change as long as you have your time its not to late to be better for our sake its time for us to prioritize ourselves and create bounderies dont be a cheerful dog that have forgot to live for himself dont be traped there is always a way out if we want to

@Cowardly6023

This is a very deep story, thank you for sharing and also for sharing you insights.

We are very good in imprisoning ourselves mentally but bad in liberating ourselves. Sadly this often goes back to bad experiences in childhood but each prison has a door and I strongly believe we can learn to open it. Mindfulness and good support can help.

@Cowardly6023 thanks for posting the story. It reminds me of the habits we are taught as children and often carry over to adulthood because we are in a rut.

Getting unstuck is a challenge but we can do it.
