Sister Sister Sexual Abuse

I'm 47 years old, when I was about 6 or 7 years old my sister put me on her lap and took my hand to fondle her private parts. I never spoken about this until 3 weeks ago. I've never confronted my sister and I don't know if I can or want to. My parents don't know and at this point I don't I would tell them. I have no idea if my sister remembers this and my greatest fear is she'll accuse me of lying. I have 2 neices who I adore and don't want them to know about this. My sister and I have never been close...for obvious reasons but I've just started realizing things about myself and my family relationships since I finally spoke about it with someone. It was gut wrenching but in a way it made me feel better. If it took me 41 years to say it out loud to someone, how long will it take me to get into therapy for it... I'm in favor of it but the thought of going and talking about it in depth makes me want to vomit. I just don't know if I want to deal with this but I obviously need to. Looking for some advice or ideas on what I should do.... I know its my decision but right now I'm just wading in the water.

@Beabull728 Hi, I think that it was very brave of you to write about what happened to you here. I can relate to what you said about taking 41 years to say it out loud. (I had some things that took me 40 years to speak out loud). I agree that therapy is a personal decision. I did go to therapy and it was very hard to talk about those things but in my case I did find it helpful. I wanted to let you know that there are 1 to 1 listeners here that you can chat with as well as a weekly meeting for Sexual abuse survivors.
