Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-In: Sunday 29th March
hello lovely community, good to see you! i hope you are all staying safe and taking good care of yourselves.
in the past few weeks i have been just staying at home and am trying to do my best with all this "free" time. although i must say, i find it hard to stick to my healthy habits when my routine is gone and the circumstances change.
so for today i wanted to ask you...
First of all - how are you doing today?
Would you rather like to stay really busy or have lots of free time, and why?
What is one thing you learned this week?

First of all - how are you doing today?
I'm alright, still sick though
Would you rather like to stay really busy or have lots of free time, and why?
Free time, cause i get stressed really easily
What is one thing you learned this week?
That I can prevent myself from tearing my own accomplishments down, by deciding how I'm going to think and feel about it ahead of time. If that makes any sense
I'm doing really well. I feel motivated and calm today, thank you. :)
Well, having lots of free time lately has kept me pretty busy! I like being busy on my own accord.
This week, I learned that when bad things happen, it's not "just my life". I don't have to have bad things happen to me, they're not magnetically attracted to me just because I've had bad experiences in the past. I deserve goodness and happiness and growth just like everybody else!
@betterchoices hello!
that is so lovely to hear that you are feeling positive today! so glad to hear that
and that sounds like you were able to learn something really important this week - you definitely do deserve all these great things and im glad you are letting these things come into your life now!
how are you doing today?
I'm doing okay. Been a bit stressed with everything going on.
Would you rather like to stay really busy or have lots of free time, and why?
I like to stay busy, I don't know how to keep still and that's something I'm working on.
What is one thing you learned this week?
I'm learning that it's okay to be bored.
@Goldcherry2113 hello there! i can understand that the current situation would be stressful for you to deal with - just know that at the moment many people are going through this so we are all in this together.
thank you for sharing your answers, it is definitely okay to be bored and sometimes just do nothing.
1. I'm alright I guess. Kinda mellow with spurts of blah, anxiety and possible depressive episode. I'm lucky I caught it before it got very bad. Doing what I need to keep myself safe while still challenging myself & my thinking / behavioral patterns.
2. Free time, I don't feel as rushed, can take time to enjoy things. Busy only if I could do what I wanted to keep busy and am allowed breaks to avoid burn out. Problem with me and free time is it can be hard to get motivated again when I go for a long time doing nothing. Constant busy-ness (if it feels like work) can be stressful for me. Both have drawbacks and positives for me.
3. I've learned how resilient I can be
Goodnight :)
@AveryLove
First of all - how are you doing today?
Pretty decent. Online school starts tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes!
Would you rather like to stay really busy or have lots of free time, and why?
Really busy. If I have a lot of free time, I don't know what to do with it and not only end up being unproductive, but also quickly become bored. I like being busy because I know I'm accoplishing things and getting better at something :)
What is one thing you learned this week?
Trust the process. Really important lesson to learn. Ever since this November, I haven't stopped trying to control the outcome. But some things I just can't control.
