Hi everyone, I hope your weekends are filled with joy and wonder. After another really huge exam for my psychology class I must admitt to feeling pretty drained, so I'll keep things simple today. Stop in, let us know how your world is doing, ask any questions you may have, or tell us of your favourite food. Whatever may be on your mind.

This is a safe place and it belongs to you. smiley

@Raveninthelabrynth

I had a very nice day yesterday and i am looking forward to a nice swim lateron but some disturbing feelings come up from time to time. I joined a group abt. 6 months ago which became very important to me. Now all over sudden i get this fear of loosing them, i have not given any reason to believe so, but the fear still comes up. guess it is a leftover from traumatic experience from bullying, i deal with it with meditation, will also try to be more present in trauma sessions but just wanted to post this, may be somebody else had similar experience.

@amiableTurtle9543 HiTurtle, it's nice to see you today. smiley

I'm sorry for your woes, but I'm glad you have some of the proper tools to deal with them. You are definately not alone with fear of abandonment. I get it myself. When I have those thoughts I do my best to think about them. See if they are real and based in fact or if I'm worrying when I don't need to. I know how tough it can get. Perhaps you should go swimming as you had planned and turn it all around? I hope you have a wonderful day. smiley

Hi,

Your post is definitely something that will many of us can relate with especially in a trauma group setting. It is courageous of you to be so open. Many times it temporarily increases the anxiety and then it will subside again as you continue to heal.

Meditation is a tremendous way to deal with those passing thoughts in my personal experience. It really helps me acknowledge them, sit with them briefly and then release them. I hope you have a similar experience as the process can be helpful to many.

Congratulations on finding a meaningful support group! I hope you enjoy your evening swim. Being active is another helpful technique. Hang in there, you are doing a wonderful job of managing things.

Hi everyone,

Today is a pretty good day for me. I must admit that it is a little cold outside and my down comforter was very tough to shed this morning. It was a busy week so relaxing, calming my thoughts through meditation was a nice way to begin my day. The sun is shining today so it is perfect for a long walk after I finish a few things. Ah yes, my way of adulting as some chores still require a bit of negotiation (even at my age 🙂). I hope I am not the only one as I need some new ideas to reward myself every once in a while. 💡 Feel free to chime in if you have some positive things that you do to motivate yourself if you are so inclined. I enjoy the creativity among our family.

Thinking of you all today and always.

@BeeLeigh Is it an online lecture? I used to play at 1.5 speed and pause when I needed to. Taking a third of the time commitment off can really lighten the load I found.

It is online, but idk how I would speed it up? My school uses Yuja. We have to watch them for participation points in this class 🙄

I get nothing out of them in this class, I can

You are wonderful, Raven! We are all here for one another. It is also a great example for all of us to ask for what we need and know that others will happily do whatever they can. See, you are an inspiration and positive role model.

* dont fly too far away, we are here when you are ready. School is almost over for a little break. Ah, me time just around the corner.

Hello. getting close to the Holidays and I get a lot of uncomfortable emotions and flashbacks. It was Thanksgiving day and I had washed dishes. One of our dog's bowels slipped from my hands and broke, it was an accident but my mom got so mad that she poured me a bowl of Gravy Train dog food and stood over me and made me eat it. My Thanksgiving dinner was given to the dog. This always haunts me during this season. I have never made any sense of her action. I get mad and angry at her but she died 2 years ago.

I wish I could drag her up and make her confess her abuse. Angry at her for dying and not saying she was sorry
