Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check In - Wednesday June 21st 2017
So, June 21st is just starting here in the UK, and it's our longest day of the year in terms of daylight hours. The summer solstice, which I believe is also common today to all countries in the Northern Hemisphere - according to google 😉
We know this may be a difficult time of year for some of you due to your traumatic experiences. But we are here for you if you need to feel safe, supported and cared about.
Google also threw up the rather neat image and words below. So, time to move from one phase to the next on your own terms. When you've experienced trauma, it's easy to feel bogged down by it. The past can so easily consume the present. But can you muster your energy, take control, and move on from that trauma? Do you recognise the survivor in you? What would you like your future to look like?

Love the sunflowers and the words!
And thank you for posting this early... especially as we missed Tuesday... apologies to all.
Hoping that we each catch a glimpse of the sun, warmth and light today.(even in the Southern hemisphere)
Summer solstice here as well -- fitting, since I have a long day coming up lol. Woke up tense and nauseous after a fitful sleep last night. Despite best efforts to stay grounded and present, I'm feeling extremely anxious about all the running about that is ahead of me today, including back to back appointments with my GP and my case manager (which is probably the primary source of the dread, beyond the prospect of leaving the house of course).
Can't put any of it off any further though. So hopefully intense meditation and deep breathing (and breakfast -- can't forget that) will do the trick. Or at least make the run up feel less dreadful. 😓
