Finding Purpose In Life With Mindfulness
Hi everyone I hope we all are doing good today. And if not hugz
A lot of us have been through a very terrible life, some lost many loved ones, some have a lot of major health/mental health issues, some have issues financually. We all have gone through our own "hell" right? Some times that really dents our vision/beleif in why am I here? What is my purpose in life? Well can you believe mindfulness can be 1 thing that helps you find this? Yes I'm telling you truth
The two greatest days of your life are the day you were born, and the day you find out what your purpose is, but if you dont know what your purpose is than you dont know why you are here, and it can be hard to keep going.
I struggled daily to figure out my purpose, but it wasnt until I took a step back and realized that my purpose isnt figure-outable from my head that I found a way to get there. I thought to myself, Maybe the problem isnt that I dont know what my purpose is; the problem is the way I am trying to find my purpose.
So how can Mindfulness help me find my purpose in life?
1. Take Some Action
You cant think your way into finding your life purpose you have to do your way into it.So instead of overthinking it on Will this work out? Should I try that? What if I dont like it? What if I dont make money at it? Start taking steps toward your goals and start trying new things. This will help you get out of your own way. I struggled for years trying to find out what my purpose was. This cycle only created a deeper lack of clarity. It wasnt until I started doing that things changed for me.
2.Think From Your Heart Not Your Head
Your heart is your best tool to access your true purpose and passion. Ask yourself what you love? Start taking steps to do what you love. When you are inspired and connected to your happy self, inspiration floods your heart and soul. When you lead from your heart, you are naturally more joyful and motivated to explore. By doing what you love, you will be inspired and gain insights into what brings you the most joy.
3.Break Up The "ONE"
Many of us struggle because we try to find that ONE thing that we are meant to do. But trying to find only one thing is the reason why we feel like something is missing. The notion that we have only one thing we are meant for limits us from fulfilling our greatness. Take me for example; I have six different job titles. Im a state medical caregiver, a budgeter, a cook, a vet, a teacher, a supporter, and each thing I do brings me joy, but none of these are my purpose, they are my passions. So start getting in touch with your passions! When you lead a passionate life you are living your life on purpose.
Passion + Daily Action = Purposeful Life
Consider that the real purpose of anyones life is to be fully involved in living. Try to be present for the journey and fully embrace it. Soon you will be oozing with passion, and you will feel so purposeful and fulfilled you will wonder how you lived life without it. Enjoy the journey into your own awesome life.

Great check in, Rumple 😊
I think the wrong tag list inadvertently got, posted, as there are a number of missing names (including mine) and names of folks who aren't on the check in list. Reposting so nobody misses out on your wonderful post! Apologies to those who end up double-tagged!

Daww Thanks a bunch *virtual hug*
I want to reply to this later if I can, but right now I am feeling miserable. I don't know what's going on, or what I did wrong, or whether it's my fault. I feel trapped in a box of having made one small mistake that potentially ruined everything. I feel so trapped inside a tiny, tiny, box. I'm in a lot of internal pain. I feel trapped, like I have to achieve perfection -- .... like I'm not okay as I am. Like I must do better. Like my failings in life are my fault for not having done better. Ohhh, I am not in a good mental space.
Why must I insist on continually improving? Why is no one and nothing ever good enough for me? It is such a lonely existence! But I feel I walk such a thin line... I am just trying to be happy. I'm so confused.
@singercrystalspirit
HI Spirit good to see you
I'm sorry you are feeling miserable and also in some pain. It is hard when you don't know the answer to something. Or if things are unclear by others. Feeling trapped and like you done something really feels bad
hugs
For right now, I'd like you to get comfy in that little box. Breathe deep and let in good stuff/feelings, breathe out all this you are feeling. Think of the "good" in you only in you nothing else. Nothing others tell you or give you-nothing. Just what you feel only. Now I am going to answer your questions but in a different way. You keep comfy in that box breathing till you feel ready to come out...............
Why must I insist on continually improving?
Why do I feel I need to continuously improve on this? What is it I am trying to acheive for me?
Why is no one and nothing ever good enough for me?
Why do I feel that anything I do is not good enough for others and myself? How can I help myself feel what I am doing is good enough?
It is such a lonely existence! But I feel I walk such a thin line... I am just trying to be happy. I'm so confused.
I know I am on the path to healing and it's tough and lonely- BUT I say to myself I am doing my best

I hope some of this helps you, when you are ready take a deep breath and come out of the box....you are doing great!

Mindfulness really is the trick for trauma. Of course, the most challenging part can be activating the practice. I was out of practice but, out of necessity, I started again 3 days ago. It's scary to attempt mindfulness if you've been completely out of your body for a very long time. My way of re-integrating the practice into my life is this...
I use Insight (an app) and set the timer for 1 minute. During that 1 minute, I check in with my body and my breath. When the timer ends, I go to the Memo section of my phone. I started a memo called "There is no going backward, only forward." In there, I write the date and the time. Then I list 3 things I am grateful for. Then I list, with single words, all of the feelings I am having. I am carefu to make sure that I list emotions, not thoughts. Then I set my phone timer for an hour. When the phone timer goes off, I do it all over again.
I am in the midst of serious life crises, and this has been incredibly grounding the past 3 days. It has helped me to become aware of feelings I didn't realize I was having. I can see patterns. And I also am reminded that feelings come and go. Within an hour, at least one of the feelings changes.
@Tayboi
HI Tayboi good to see you in check in
Yes mindfulness is a good skill to have when dealing with trauma. I am glad that you rejoined mindfulness a few days ago and trying it out again. Being away from it-yes can be really weird again. I really like that mindfulness skill you do. Kinda checking in with yourself many times through the day really does help. Wow you should be proud of yourself!! Im sorry to hear you are in a bit of crisis right now. But also glad you are doing these skills to kinda keep grounded some. I do hope this helps you, and also we are all here to support you as well
Lately I have been searching for my purpose in life. Thank you for this post. I know what I have a passion for but I have been afraid. Afraid I will fail. Time to put my fear aside and make a positive change in my life. Thank you for the inspiration.
@RedHawk6547
Hiya Red wonderful you are here
How do you search? What is your meaning of purpose? Today many people pm me on this and that was their question to me. Good for you on knowing what your passion is!! Feed that passion-go after it. Yes-fear. Fear of failing is a biggie. Please can you look at it as "Yes I was not good at this passion I have, but wow I have this other passion." Maybe can you try and say this to yourself? You can do this Red!!

So many good points. I need to remember this! I sometimes feel so bad about not having chosen a career path yet, and feel torn between many interests. But I think you're right--by trying several different things I like, I'm much more likely to be happy or find new paths to take.
@MoreThanAConqueror18
HI More great to see you today
I do know on being undecided on a career is stressful and can bring up some bad emotions and feeling low self worth. But who says you have to be a certain age for a career? Society tells you this once you turn 16 job then a car
You try out some things you are interested in. See which one makes you feel special. Don't put all your eggs in 1 basket
Thank you @RumpleSteeleSkin
Its hard to be mindful when I'm in pain.
