The second picture of the canoe in clear blue water is breathtaking. Although it's not something I enjoy in real life.
I am terrified of big body of water. Not because I can't swim, infact I am a great swimmer. I think I relate body of water to the unknown, I don't have a drop of "Explore" in my body, Something familiar that has nothing to do with "Calm" makes me feel at ease.
I came back from 5 day trip and when I came home, the sight of my coffee mug sitting on the counter made me feel extremly happy. Familiar objects makes me feel calm vs beautiful places and things I am seeing for the first time.
@Jackie
Hiya, Jackie! I hope you're okay. I hear you, big bodies of water could definitely be scary.
Sometimes the familiar objects we have in our lives make us feel calm and could definitely give us the feeling of safety.
I'm the same with exploring in a way, as much as I love it, the comfort of the objects familiar to me/places as well could make me feel better.
I hope you're having a lovely week!
@Kate yayy youve put the schedule on the forum postings this is super helpful to know
Heya :D
So personally, i found none of them calming or relaxing, but i have an unusual interpretation of relaxing
Feeling calm to me is when I have an adrenaline kick because that means i am doing something i enjoy so therefore feel relaxed. Things which are usually perceived as calming make me feel irritable and fidgety. So here is my interpretation of a calming picture which i have in my room

This week i am looking forward to hopefully being productive with my course and the coursework i have left to do. Its also great to be back at work
*safe hugs for anyone who wants or needs one*
@RockClimber18
Good luck with your course work! I love a good adrenaline rush too, to me, that would be zip lining and offroad driving.
*safe hugs*
@Kate
I don't actually have a picture of my something that's calming, but once while I was canoeing with my family, we found a hidden beach that was only accessible on small boats. We didn't have phones or cameras with us so it's only in our memories, but thinking about that always calms me down. I'm not very calm this week because midterms start Friday and I have a bunch of projects to do, but I'll get through it!
*safe hugs*
@CranberryPineapples
Hi, dear , I hope you're well! This is such a nice memory to have <3
Good luck on your mid terms i'm sure you'll do great!
Safe hugs.
I hope you have a calm week regardless of the exams.
@Kate
I like the lily pads ...i am drawn to the ones that don't have people in them, for some reason.
Hanging in there.
@ReallyRuth
I'm glad you're hanging in there. We are here if you need to talk. Safe hugs.
thanks, kate. i was digging into my trauma today and feeling a lot of the shame associated with it. these images helped. i'll gladly accept the hugs too because i could use some today.
@crimsonSpruce612
Hi, dear. Sending you lots if safe hugs. It sounds like you haven't been feeling great today. It is understandable that some might feel a lot of shame regarding their trauma, what you are feeling is valid but I would like to remind you that it is not your fault. And, with time, those thoughts that make us feel all that shame and guilt could disappear. It takes time but with the right support it is indeed possible. I hope your week goes well.
<3
@Ayla thanks so much Ayla, and for the reminder that it wasn't my fault. slowly, i can start to believe that. thank you.
I like the first picture with the trees. I am having a hard time. I'm trying but I'm not enough.
@practicalIdeal2007
I'm so sorry you are having a hard time, dear.
Offering safe hugs if wanted. We are right here with you. What makes you feel like you aren't enough? I can see how our past could bring such negative thoughts and feelings, it takes time to shake them off and process them. What helps when you feel like this?
Could you try and list 3 positive things about yourself? It could be anything.
I hope your week gets better.

Hello.
