I am sooo happy to hear from you once again! heart

How are you feeling today? :)

How has this week been to you? Do you have anything on your mind you would like to share about it? :)

I have had a long week, one that left me drained and also at one point kind of hit me and so I was really looking forward to this weekend just to recharge and to spend some time with you, amazing people over here :)

I think we can all agree that one of the best places to just recharge and relax after a hard week or day or so is a pillow fort. ^-^

What could make it even better tho is have some really amazing company there or, even better, build it together with amazing people sooo why not build a pillow fort together where we can all go and hide a little bit! :)

So, let's build the best pillow fort together. ^-^
I would bring my teddy bear and honestly those lights on the above picture, I totally love those kind of lights. I am curious about you tho, how would a good pillow fort look for you and what would you take with yourself into it? :)

Of course, as always, all of the questions are just optional, so there is no pressure on you, if you would just like to say hi or just sit here with us a for a bit you are always welcome here to do so as well, it is always really nice to just have you around with us either way! heart

Also, feel free to join @Hoxenos & @Melsue84 for a discussion at 3PM ET today! :)

Oh wow! A fort. What a great retreat for recharging. Blankets to keep warm and soft warm glow lights sound good to me. I need to re-invest in a teddy bear! I don't generally get the opportunity to spend time recharging - with expectations of me to be "on" 24/7 (which does not work!!!) but still expected of me. Claiming this time for myself is a great thing, regardless of the fall out later.

My abusive husband, has never allowed me to have time "off" even to take 10 minute rest periods. He is not living with me now, but not before he prevented me from taking my first ever vacation, a girl trip with my one childhood friend who has stayed true to me through it all. Literally, I've never taken a vacation before - never allowed but desperately needed. And I lost this one, and all the money invested in paying for it. At this time the C-PTSD is too bad for me to seek employment, so it is impossible for me to earn money to re-try this long-awaited, needed respite.

So the fort is great...maybe have some sounds of trees swaying in the breeze and a river lazily winding its way would be comforting sounds to me.

My brother - my earliest abuser, whom I've tried not to have contact with through the years, contacted me this week sending me into a panic and spiral downward.

Hey there @WoodViolet *offering safe hugs*

It is really nice to have you here with us! heart

yay! I am glad you like the idea of pillow forts and I do agree with you that some blankets are definitely important, especially given that it very cold around here right now. Also, I hope you will be able to get a teddy bear or two for yourself soon :)

I am sorry to hear about your abusive husband tho and all that you have had to go through because of him. It is not fair - or possible for that matter - to expect anyone be "on" 24/7 and I am sorry that he has pressured you so much that you have not been able to take breaks. Also, I wonder if there is maybe a way to get at lest some of the money back that you have invested into that vacation as a reimbursement of services you have not ended up using. I mean, it would probably worth a try and then you may be able to have a smaller, short vacation/break from everything. :)
Of course, I know that it would still not be the same, and I am really sorry to hear that you have been not able to go to that vacation either :(

We can always take a noise generator or just some speakers with us and just find a "video" on youtube of just those sounds. I mean, there are actually surprisingly a lot of videos just for background noise like this on there and I use them as well :)

I am sorry to hear that you have had to face such a trigger earlier this week, You have the right to not to answer them or just tell your brother to stay out of your life. You have the right to build your own boundaries and to say no although I know it can be really hard but I want you to know that we are all here for you to help you through this as best as we can. I believe in you! heart

Stay awesome! heart

@WoodViolet

How pretty! it inspired me to put "make a bed sheet fort" in my to-do list with my daughter this weekend. Something about small tight places with cozy vibe makes me feel at ease. Thank you for sharing!

@redmark

Yay for blanket forts! I would wear a warm, fuzzy sweater and fuzzy socks. I would bring a big, heavy blanket to wrap up in, a big mug of Chai, and my choceting project.

Hey there @ReallyRuth *offering safe hugs*

It is always so nice to hear from you around here! heart

Oh...warm and fuzzy things are awesome! ^-^
That's one of my favourite parts about winter that I've got to wear warm, soft and fuzzy sweaters. :)
Also having a blanket and some tea does really sound amazing and, well, I do not know much about crocheting, other than we have once had to try it at school and I was bad at it but it really seems relaxing :)

Hello. Glad you get a chance to recharge this weekend. Sometimes we all need that.

The pillow fort sounds nice. I will definitely join you guys on there. I would bring my stuffed shark as it is very soft and very friendly.

Today I seem to be having another day or at least part of the day when I feel ambivalent somewhat about my existence. I wonder why I am here and should I really be alive? Would everybodys lives be better off without me? Im not going to act on it but still those thoughts and feelings hurt. Make me so tired sometimes too. Sorry.

Hey there @pioneeringBanana1598 *offering safe hugs*

It is so nice hear from you around here! heart

Thank you, I definitely needed a bit of a bread and luckily this weekend so far is rather calm for me :)

Oh...a shark? I mean, as long as it does not bite it is always welcome especially if it is very friendly ^-^

Those thoughts can be really draining. I mean, you do not have anything to be sorry about, really. I am glad that you have shared it with us and I am sorry that you have to deal with those kinds of thoughts. I can tell you one thing for sure, I am always glad to see you around here and I know it may not mean much but for me you truly are inpirational and I think my life would be less if I would have not got to know you and it would definitely not be better without you. I would miss you honestly, I think.

Either way tho, I know that those thoughts are not always rational and I am not saying that the way you feel is wrong or you should not feel that way because your feelings are valid, always, and important for us here I just want you to know that I do think you really are making this place better at least by being here with us :)

Honestly, I feel like crap and have been for the last few days. I had counseling back on Wednesday and that helped for that day. All I have been wanting to do is sit at a table with my hand holding up my head. I was told at counseling to start meditating before bed but when I do I get interrupted by the kids. The suicidal thoughts were starting to let up but they keep coming back down on me.

Hey there @FaithfulPrune9638 *offering safe hugs*

It is really nice to have you here with us! heart

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling like that. I know it can be really hard some days to deal with all that you have been through but I am glad to hear that therapy at least seems to be helpful and I want you to know that you are not alone with it it here either. Although I know it is not the same as professional help but still if there is anything we may need to help you with here please let us know anytime and together we can get through this, I do believe in it anyways and I do believe in you! heart

Also, meditation sounds really nice but I can imagine it has to be hard to find some time for yourself just in general with kids around. I do wonder if you could maybe do it after they are asleep or maybe before they wake up as an alternative. :)

Stay strong and awesome! heart

I'm feeling ok today. I have been wondering lately about my purpose in life. A pillow fort sounds wonderful. I would bring my music, my journal and a warm blanket. Hope you have a restful weekend.

Hey there @RedHawk6547 *offering safe hugs*

We are really glad to have you here with us! heart

I am glad to hear that you are feeling okay :)
The meaning of life...that's a good question. For me, the reason that I keep going on and try to improve myself is so I can be there for others and do it better and better. I mean, I do not exactly have much of self-esteem and do not really exactly love or like myself or anything like that but it helped me to keep going on still. I mean, anyway, that is just my take on it you may find a different answer for yourself :)

Yay for music! I can really stand behind that music can make everything better and having your journal and a warm blanket with you really sounds nice :)
What kind of music do you like?

Hi pillow fort are so great. I enjoy big fuzzy soft banners to wrap up in.

Having kind of a hard week with symptoms and other people around me not really understanding and getting frustrated with me for being scared to do things that seem easy to them. I'm thankful for you all here and having a virtual place to go.

Hey there @Mashedpotato364 *offering safe hugs*

Yep, it is just such an amazing feeling when you got to wrap yourself up in soft blankets! ^-^

I am sorry to hear that you are having such a hard week. I guess it can be hard to people to understand the magnitude of effects things like this can have on a person. I mean,, I know that before coming here and spending time here I was much more ignorant about mental health as well. I feel like there should be a much more open discussion about mental health going on still although it is steadily improving. :)

Either way, I am glad that you are finding this place helpful and I want you to know that we are always happy to have you here and feel free to reach out to us if there may be anything we may be able to help you with :)

Thank you for being understanding. I used to be pretty ignorant as well and didn't even understand a lot of what I was experiencing.
