@PuppyLove13, great picture, reminds me of my collie dog who can do a complete roll over like the dog in the gif. :) Hows everyone doing today? Today is an okay day, not great but not bad. The sun is still shining so thats got to be a good thing :) And my garden is springing to new life, just hoping the birds dont eat all my grass seed where Ive had to patch up the lawn. Was a great support session last night, so proud of the many members of trauma community who are taking part in these, and the discussions are very interesting and supportive for sure :)

I've had a rough day. I think I was dissociating for a few hours? Does it make sense that since I found out that that's actually what tends to happen with me, the experience (or lack thereof) feels stronger? I got some unexpected stressful and bad news, and was left feeling dizzy and detached and things around me felt a bit unreal. Did a lot of grounding, self-care, affirmations, and eventually got better. But like, why do things have to be so hard, it's not fair
@hereigoagain I'm really sorry to hear that sweetie.. Are you aware of the triggers? If yes, then maybe being mindful of avoiding them will help :) I'm sorry you had a hard time though and I agree that this isn't fair at all.. The pain we've had to go through.. But when you dissociate and things feel unreal, maybe try grounding?
I feel like all this pain has made us better human beings who are kinder to the world as we know how bad it feels to be hurt.. So that's something positive coming from our pain :)
First I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here
In here looking for advice. Recently a survivor of domestic violence reached out to me on facebook. I was instantly infatuated with her. I liked everything about her. We talked for only a few days, but for hours. This women seemed to be everything I want in a partner.
I know she suffered from extreme anxiety over the assault. She asked for patience and understanding. I wanted to give this too her.
After a few days, she suddenly changed her thoughts felt we may have gotten too close too fast. I didn't want her to walk out of my life as fast as she walked in. I tried too hard to convince her to keep trying. I pushed something she wasn't ready for.
She said she just wasn't ready and could "do this" anymore. I am respecting her wishes, she has enough to deal with. I tried to be a fixer and that's not what she needs. She needs stability, trust, understanding.
i find myself unable to stop thinking about her. I don't know how to pursue without causing her anxiety. I want her to know my truest feelings. I want to reach out, but she asked me not too. What should I do? 😢
