I just wanted to shout out to @ayla @pioneeringBanana1598 @Lilibuth12 for replying to posts on the last few check ins aside from your own. I think that a wonderful thing in this community is our ability to support each other, not just the leaders doing so. *high five!*
@Hoxenos
Hiya Hoxenos, thank you so much for the shoutout. I think it's always nice when we support each other and make everyone feel heard. I hope you have a lovely week.
@krispykitty12
Hiya, Kitty, thanks for the check in.
I'm feeling quite well today, thank you. Looking forward to an upcoming trip.
We do not celebrate Thanksgiving in Ireland but I had a lovely day regardless.
How are you? How was your holiday?
Safe hugs if needed. Take care!
@Ayla not doing the greatest today :( thanks for asking! My holidays were ok! Thanks for checking in!
@krispykitty12
I'm sorry you haven't been doing the greatest today. I hope things improve for you a bit tomorrow and onwards.
@krispykitty12
Not quite sure how I feel today. It's hard to describe. Thanksgiving made me feel like a failure as a parent.
@RedHawk6547 I
First question: how are you? No,really how are you doing? No need to sugarcoat.... tell us how you really feel :) I hate empathy. My depression is like super charged, due to healing with gout I feel useless. I'm always sleeping.
I feel bad, I ask my neighbor for Pepsi, my brother asked for his bottle of vodka (which is a huge problem of his. I am Pepsi is my vice, but I do not drink the entire 12 pack or 2 litter bottle by myself.) Anyway i got my Pepsi but he didn't get his bottle of vodka. (So now he is upset, and I feel bad for getting the Pepsi. However he has had three open heart surgeries, but claim his leg amputee causes so much pain. My step mother got him out of pain therapy, so I don't know what to do. . . I hate him drunk. He will even get my mom to walk in snow to get him a bottle, it's bad.)
Part of me wants to run and find some decent guy and push on my dominance, but I know it won't work, but no one is truly happy here and empathic can't be happy.
Another part wants to find us a better place to live, but I know my brother will still push the vodka crap, and it makes my mom and I miserable. I know an intervention will not work as my brother doesn't care because he uses his leg pain for every excuse, but he will walk when he wants something like shopping or a new video game.
I have no local friend I can escape with.
(Note: I cannot stay awake without caffeine, so I see where I drink most sodas and coffee.)
Sorry I had to vent
Second question: How was your holiday? If good, tell me about it! If bad, why and what have the aftermath of it done to you? Thanksgiving was awesome only thing missing were my yams. I'll get them in December. Anyway, we had good company, awesome food, I overate. And no drama even if for one day. It was one of the nicest Thanksgiving I've ever had.
Third question: How has the trauma changed your outlook on the holidays? I'm usually bitter, expecting the worst and expect a piece from the Jerry Springer show. However it's never as bad as I see it in my head. . , my depression and trauma love to twist my imagination.
