Healing domestic abuse?
Hi there. I'm new and dealing with home life issues. My husband has intermittent explosive disorder that I think stems from childhood epilepsy. When talking all I hear is "get out." We love each other very much, so why isn't there an option to heal the problem? Hasn't anyone ever fixed their marriage instead?

Hey! First off, welcome to the trauma support subcommunity! I hope sharing your thoughts in the forums helps you connect with others who have faced similar experiences❤️
I understand why it may be difficult to see your husband work through intermittent explosive disorder. It's a lesser known mental health disorder and unfortunately, the patients often lash out at their loved ones. I'm sorry to hear you have to go through that, given that you love him.
Intense and repeated aggression can be cause for worry. It has been known that IED can be treated with CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and other alternative treatments. Here is a link to a website which discusses this topic.
I'm unfamiliar with marriage issues so feel free to reach out to a listener if you want to discuss more about that.
Take care~Sierra❤️
