**TW** Eating disorder thoughts, trauma
@mytwistedsoul tagging you since you said you were okay discussing it in group chat, but it's okay if you don't feel up to discussing it now of course
I have a question for systems...
When a part has trauma surrounding food, how do you convince them it's safe to eat/get food now?
I know they are scared, but I'm not sure how to help them feel safe.
For context, we have allergies and sensitivities to lots of food, but sometimes that part won't even eat "safe foods," sometimes for a whole day until another part switches in.
Any advice, thoughts? I'm also working with a therapist and will be asking her too, though she doesn't specialize in dissociative disorders.
@WriteToHeal42 This is something that's been problem here. I'm not sure how much communication or cooperation you have with everyone. For awhile we had a part that would front for meals just so there was food being eaten. But that's not always possible.
Does this part have anything favorite? Sometimes if you can have favorites handy it can help. You could try putting together a special spot with "free" food - free meaning that anyone can take something. "Apples - please take one." It gives permission.
One of the littles likes to "gift" food to this part. Usually there's a note with it. Like to: A From T type thing. A knows that T isn't trying to hurt or get anyone into trouble. A trusts T

Thanks Twisty 💛 he's been putting up a lot of brain fog and walls to cope, trying to not overstress the system, but it puts more stress on him. I'm going to try having a meeting with him next time we see each other, figure something out.
Thanks for replying, and I hope we see each other on Wednesday! - C
@WriteToHeal42 You're welcome! I hope you can both figure something out that helps him and the stress he's under. ❤️
Hope to see you tomorrow 😊
