As An Identity

Therapy, over all this time (nearly 20 years) has shown me that as much as I long for the person I remember before the trauma, I've also put on the identity as a trauma victim, someone with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, like a coat or a suit of armor, and Im just as petrified to take it off as I am in agony and exhaustion from all the years of carrying it.
