Childhood trauma

grew up never showing any weakness to my family. Back then, depression wasn’t something people talked about. It wasn’t understood, and it definitely wasn’t something we openly acknowledged.

Now, I’m dealing with childhood trauma and dissociative amnesia. Because of that trauma, I can hardly remember most of my childhood. So much of it feels blurred or missing, like pieces of my life were quietly locked away just so I could survive.

For a long time, I thought staying strong meant staying silent. But now I’m realizing that what I went through was real, and it affected me more than I ever allowed myself to admit.

@EchoOfLuna It look like you've been carrying those feelings since so long right now that you don't know how to deal with it😟 It must be hard and very heavy on your shoulder in your daily life friend 💌!!You have to understand that those memories that you don't recall do NOT mean that this is little or very insignificant. Just because you got a trauma, it doesn't require to be clear to be REAL, okay?💗 It's not because you don't remember all of it that you HAVE to remember all of it. And it just also doesn't mean neither that you have to stay silent about it because this is not STRENGHT. Showing strength and vulnerability are NOT opposite. Processing and TALKING, ASKING FOR HELP  trauma requires MORE strength than suppressing it💙 It could be great if you could talk about it to a therapist and face your troubles, friend 😊💗!  i think EMDR therapies or trauma CBT can really be helpful in your case , it helps a lot before trying to recall memories! take care friend ! you got this 🥰
