Hi I’m new here, don’t really know how this works
Like I’m sad, angry, *** up, and very confused in general. I don’t know who to blame. An argument with my parents lead me here, I deemed it a very serious issue and they deemed it my problem (very telling). I was referred to kooth by the nhs when I was 12, but I’m 18 now and they’re still useless (only available for chat between 10am and 6pm and honestly who is having a mental health crisis at those times) love the nhs for what they do but fr step up ur mental health game) but regardless, I’m angry, sad, cried for an hour and I’m so confused and lost about whether it’s my fault or theirs. Not to share my life story on here but it goes pretty deep. I am also very paranoid and therefore conscientious about what I say on here because what if the government is listening. I wasn’t really sure what group to put this in but I think??? this is right because I think trauma is the most defining issue as the other issue are caused by the issue so fair deal. Bye :) will talk about the pedophilia if anyone responds (still don’t know how this works, it’s seems like Reddit???) no spoilers;)
Hi, sorry to hear that you're having a hard time. Even though I'm from a different place and not having much idea about how things work there, I understand how that feels. Feeling unheard and not finding the right amount of support. Sending hugs, if ok. You already took a step by sharing your feelings here and I want to appreciate you for it. 🤍
So, let me help you a bit with how to navigate the site.
You can browse for listeners from here for 1-1 chat - https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/
Green dot shows the availability of a listener.
And these are the forums you can join - https://www.7cups.com/forum/

Hello, I'm PeacePink, a forum supporter for the trauma support forum, and I thought it would be good to help you understand how this platform works and also to address your current situation and feelings.
Before I continue, I just want to say that I'm sorry that you have been feeling sad, angry, and other things; the fact that you don't know where to direct these feelings or have someone or something specific in mind to blame for this suggests to me that there is someone specific who may have wronged you or at the very least hurt you very deeply, and you're not sure how to address it. It sounds like your parents have also recognized that you have been going through a hard time and, as you have implied, have perhaps placed the blame on you, where you may better benefit from their support toward a process of healing and growth.
I did not hear about Kooth until you discussed it; it seems like it's an online mental health service similar to 7 Cups. I agree with you that it's strange that they would only be available between 10 am and 6 pm, and thankfully, 7 Cups is 24/7, which has listeners from all over the world.
I understand you choosing not to share your life story so to speak just yet; it sounds like you've been through a lot, and that's not just something you can easily share with strangers although the 7 Cups setting offers anonymity to your identity. It's true that one might say you are overly paranoid, but it's not far of a stretch that the government may be listening because governments do track their citizens' activity, but it has generally been to counteract terrorism or dissenters. As for if they are listening on 7 Cups in particular, if chats with listeners are not continued, they are automatically deleted within a year of speaking with anyone, and it's part of the site rules for chats to remain confidential. 7 Cups never runs ads or sells away the data; they don't profit from us, while actual social media platforms, like *** or Google, are selling your data.
As for how the platform works, there are forums of different categories where you can make posts and gets replies, which is sort of like Reddit and these can be upvoted. There are also public group chats moderated by listeners where members like you can discuss their issues or interests. Finally, you can connect with listeners, either by making a general chat request or directly searching for one with different parameters (like lived experience in an issue you would like to talk about) and reading their reviews. Some listeners may offer short-term or long-term support; so you could potentially speak with the same listener and arrange appointments with them and build a peer support connection over time. Let me know if you have any more questions and feel free to message me or share more about yourself.
