Hello everyone

I suffer from complex trauma, it's a long story, but I 'm tired, exhausted, I really want to heal. I have read about so many therapies and methods and still I feel confused, and I will love to know the experience of others, how do real people do heal?

Well, everyone has different paths, options and schemes. Some go through therapy, some live with it all their lives. The important thing is how ready you are to work with this trauma, whether you are ready to talk about it, analyze it without emotions, without getting traumatized again. I think two things can make sense here: accept it and take small steps. You will not be able to turn it off, forget it, erase it, but you should not block life. Accept that it happened and will affect you for some time. After that, take small steps. Hundreds of therapies offer different options, exercises - start doing at least a part, at least something. Acceptance, distancing, re-experiencing, reworking the scenario in your head and so on. This is what can help. Hold on and may you be strong!

I don't know if anyone completely 100% heals from trauma, over time you get to a state where you can function.

I've written about it, I've talked about it, am I over it? Nope. I still have PTSD, I still get panic attacks, I still have nightmares and relive it, like it happened yesterday, even though it's been a very long time.

I just think we learn to cope better, some lean on others, some join support groups. It's whatever works for you.

I just try to focus on the good things, the good days and on the bad days.. I try to comfort myself, that I'm safe, that it's alright to feel overwhelmed or sad and that it will pass.
