I can't sleep 😢 (Trigger warning)
I've been taking prescribed sleeping tablets for over 2 years now and still am. They prevent me from dreaming, but lately with all this new memories coming back to me, I'm getting terrible nightmares. I'm not sure how to handle all these feelings and emotions and the nightmares. I really hope it gets better just easier to deal with. I'm no a big fan of myself right now feeling very low
@Tinywhisper11 sorry about the nightmares and lack of sleep , it sucks :(
could the meds be causing issue in sleep? something you feel you wanna bring up to the doctor that prescribed them? Maybe they can suggest something helpful
I hope it gets better for you too 💕
Do you feel comfy sharing why you're not a fan of yourself rn? it is ok to feel low and allow yourself some rest 🤗
@Optimisticempath thanks for your kind words ❤ the doctor is aware and is trying to help ❤ I don't like myself because of my past. And because now I'm 22 years old living in a carehome. Permanently disabled now. No family. Scars all over my body I'm just stuck right now. Sometimes life can seem hard
@Tinywhisper11 I'm glad they know and are trying to help 💕
I feel us humans are quicker at blaming ourselves and hating on ourselves even for things that were beyond our control , it is ok to feel bad because it really is unfair and bad :(
I'm really sorry to know of the limitations you endure as a result of trauma you've experienced, none of this was your choice and you did not deserve it 💕 how I wish things were different for you, but I know from some of your other posts that things are different for you, I'm happy you're in a safer place now at least and have some people around that care for you and make you feel loved ❤ ofcourse it doesn't make being you or living your life easier but I want to just say that you've been through so much and yet here trying your best every day to keep fighting and it truly counts ❤ you can take time to feel proud of yourself too yaknow? and some time to be as gentle and kind you can be towards yourself ❤ you deserve it 🤗
also your disability in no way makes you any less of an amazing human that you are and you are allowed to ask for help and support from others , to not deal with everything alone. You are strong for admitting it's tough and uncalled for 🥺
Hi Tiny,
I’m so sorry to hear that. I also experience nightmares. It’s something that has challenged me for a long time, but it has gotten better. During the early years I would really struggle to shake off my mornings. I would cry and shake and hyperventilate. Not knowing what day or time I was waking in was very disorienting.
Over time I managed to learn how to regulate my body better and even developed my lucid dreaming skills. That is, I now have the potential to discern when I am dreaming within a dream. Generally, I notice when something is off logistically, very much like the move Inception, and then I can prompt myself to wake. Sometimes I still get upset and burst into tears. Grounding techniques are also helpful, as well as taking a closer look at the context of the nightmare.
Have you ever tried keeping a dream journal?
Hope this helps!
