Self compassion and acceptance

Hi Guys, from childhood trauma and a toxic past romantic relationship, i have developed disorganized attachment.

I have just finished one year with a new partner who checks all of my boxes and whom i admire as a person. He has been my rock when trauma has brought me to my knees.

I feel as though i am the toxic one in this relationship with how often i break down and become dysregulated. I have hurt him intentionally, and i have taken accountability for any mistakes i have made. There is no doubt our love is strong but i have a lot of worries based on past experiences.

How do you guys cultivate self acceptance and compassion when you know you are not showing up as the version of yourself you want to be. (I am chronically ill and dx with a new mood disorder recently. )

@Shadeshack hey there, as someone who struggles with the same things in relationships, what I learned to work on was my patience and self control when my emotions feel unreliable as I tend to lash out on those I love. I did that by pausing, thinking, and trying to regulate/ figure out my emotions before they overcame me. something else I also considered was actually processing/releasing my emotions or stress in a healthy way by talking them out with my partner, or to someone I trust about what's triggering me so that I wasn't holding it in and basically changing my perspective/emotions towards people or myself.  This is just what has helped me I understand everyone is different but this has shaped me to be more mindful/understanding with myself and others when I'm overwhelmed or frustrated with someone.
