TW - Medical Trauma
TW - Just in case.... I have past Medical Trauma. A recent medical procedure experience deepened that trauma and my trust is very limited when it comes to medical staff. I haven't ever met anyone that has dealt with this type of trauma before. Regular therapy feels like I'm repeating my story when I really need someone to relate to. It's tough. Not the easiest type of trauma to understand.
I recently had a breast biopsy and expressed my past trauma anxiety and the need for being numb and having support. 3 staff members acknowledged but when the procedure began, the pain was so horrible I screamed for them to stop. The response was "We only want to have to do this once." They finished and I was shaking so bad afterward. One nurse seemed to care and gave support.
I wrote a letter to that facility regarding their conduct and not a soul has acknowledged it. No letter, no phone call, no email. Nothing. It's almost like they got what they wanted and disappeared. I guess this is why people wait until the last minute to get care or never at all. I relive this every day. I lay in bed at night and think about it; my heart races and I just don't sleep well.
Thank you for allowing me to share.
@MySunnyShine48 I’m so sorry about your experience. I hope you feel much better, know that you will heal and their behavior towards you says a lot more about them.
@MySunnyShine48
i have medial trauma too I can’t stand doctors! I recently changed doctors surgeries and I’ve been meaning to do it for four years but felt too triggered to do anything for ages. Wish I’d done it sooner now!
