When I was 17, I got pregnant. I had only been with the guy a few weeks and my parents pressured me into an abortion. Saying about how it would never work out and they weren't willing to help me etc. Now its been 2 and a half years and I dream about the procedure and I wake up screaming and with night sweats. I also get horrible anxiety attacks from thinking about it. Can anyone relate?

I'm sorry your abortion experience was not a positive one. The decision to end a pregnancy should always be one that a woman comes to on her own, and never one that is forced upon her. There is a really wonderful resource called the Exhale project that I think you might find really helpful. You can find them here: https://exhaleprovoice.org/after-abortion-support. They have links to find therapists, a story sharing community, and alsoa wonderful 24/7 talk line. It sounds like you're carrying around a lot of stress and guilt from the procedure, and I hope that they can help you.

Abortion can bevery difficult. I personally feel the best way to move past this problem is confront yourself. Acknowledge the situation and then remind yourself that yes this happened but this one moment in my life does not define me as a person. Allow yourself togrieve and allow yourselfto moveforward as a stronger person.

I got pregnant by my ex boyfriend whom I still madly love but I had to abort the baby because I Dnt know what is of us,we meet occasionally to have sex and it resulted me getting pregnant.I feel really bad for aborting the baby what if that was the only chance of us ever being together again. He tells me if I was two months pregnant he would have made me keep it. I was almost a month pregnant.

What you are experiencing is an extremely normal response to abortion. Please my dear, work on forgiving yourself. Society wants us to think it is a simple medical procedure hat is done and quickly forgotten with no follow-up coping support or counseling. This common misconception is just not true. The procedure can be very traumatic for many people who have been subjected to this experience. Of course you are hurting and feeling this deep trauma and sense of loss. You can get through this and move ahead.

I would like to post a website that may offer support through your time of healing and pain. Please, take care of yourself you are so very valuable and importantyou are not alone.

If nothing else so you realize you are worth it and

I'm not sure if you're aware, but both of those are anti-abortion organizations, which is probably the last thing OP needs right now. There are a number of pro-choice organizations that would be better suited to her needs and less likely to cause psychological damage.

I can relate. I had one almost 6 months ago. My SO and I agreed it was the right decision. I never wanted children and I still don't. It was horrific and it really messed me up emotionally. I feel like it is still so taboo and people are so judgmental about it that I have yet to really talk to anyone about it. It still bothers me. It has also put a strain on our relationship. He wants to talk about it but he does not realize that talking about it means me reliving tha procedure. Just thinking about me makes me cry and brings me back to that day. Some days, just looking at him is a reminder of a traumatic experience I want to forget.

But over the past 6 months, it has become better. I feel like I have more positive days than negative ones. I still feel judged by society but what I learned is that many women from all walks of life have abortions and for many different reasons. You are not alone. There are women out there with similar stories who want to listen and want to help you.

If you ever want to talk, I am here for you. heart

I had an abortion almost 2 years ago at the age of 21, when I found out I was pregnant part of me was happy, but when I told my mum she seemed disappointed. It was her that suggested abortion. I felt if I didn't have an abortion I would be letting her down and dissapointing her. My mum bought me up pretty much on her own from when I was 12. I couldn't stand the thought of her hating me for this.

After the procedure I felt so upset with myself, but angry that I should be feeling upset when it was my own fault for going ahead. I used to cry to myself at night id often wish the procedure hadn't worked and there was still a baby in there, or I would be calling myself a murderer. My abortion affected me a lot emotionally, and I don't think people realise just how much it can affect those who go ahead, no one could hate me more than I hate myself for doing what I did. a mother is supposed to protect there child and I failed! I failed my baby!

Thinking about it now still upsets me, however I do keep telling myself it was the right thing to do. I would never be anti abortion as I believe in certain circumstances it is the right thing unfortunately, But I feel people should be more aware of the emotional effects abortion can have on people and for some, the effects of an abortion could probably affect them more than bringing up a baby could.
