Childhood memory
I am someone who has a good memory which can be good and bad. It's so good that I can remember details back from when I was a child. In this scenario, it was about 32 years ago. I grew up in an abusive home and sometimes this story gets to me.
Years ago, when I was 5, I had left my parents house and walked all the way to one of the gas stations by myself because my mom was out and I did not see my dad sleeping in the basement on a couch after getting up from a nap myself. So, I ventured out to find them. Long story short, the police were called by my parents and the clerks at the gas station, who brought me home.
When I got in, my parents:
1. Were waiting outside and my mom was angry and scared and proceeded to yell at me in front of the police officer. "Do you ever do that again" and yelled at me for a long time
2. I was accused of "Running away" and I told them, "I was just going for a walk," but they did not listen. Rather, they wanted to tell me how wrong I was.
3. At one point, my dad seemed to laugh it off by asking me as if I was being cute, "Did you go to the superette store?" I said, "Yes" before losing his temper at me, "You're getting a spanking," and took me into my bedroom to spank me on the bed and spanking me really hard. When I asked him at a later date, it was "Because I was mad."
I was haunted about it this morning but I realized that my dad probably punished me because he could not punish himself for not being responsible. He is the one who slept downstairs instead of keeping an eye on me. My parents were always blaming other people for their bad choices. As for me, I was just a kid.

@FlowersPralinesPresents
1. I didn't run away, I just woke up and could my find my parents and assumed they were at a local gas station having some quality time together and left to find them
2. When I writing this story, it makes me sad that my parents were nasty to me like that. Especially when my mom shouted at me in front of the police officer and when my dad seemed to flip the switch mood-wise and abuse me physically.
He spanked me and did other things every chance he could because he was "Mad."
My parents still can't seem to own up to how they hurt me when I confronted them recently when I let them know that I don't want any contact with them and I got "I am sorry you feel that way."
They don't want to prosecute adults but I will never ever forget. Never!

Double victims...victims becoming victims of the system too...now this is smth for my attention...cannot write anything more.
